launch problem

I just got the witcher 2 today and i got to the registering part of the installing. I tried to type the key but nothing showed up, so i clicked ok button and now it jut keeps downloading the same thing over and over. Please help.

Download the PATCH 0->1.3
disconnect from internet
apply patch
try game
reconnect to internet
