Launcher issues

Hey guys I’m French, I will do my best to be understandable.

I have huge issues with The witcher 1 enhanced edition (1.5) launcher.

I Have 2 computer with Windows 7 and each time the same thing happen on the 2 computers: I install the game successfully, the game is working 1 month and suddenly, the launcher doesn’t work at all.

When I open task manager (Ctrl + Alt + Suppr) : Nothing is running, nothing at all, not even just a sec.

I assumed same problem with League of legends Launcher and the only thing wich worked : format the computer ( French equivalent : formater). I just won’t format my computer each month.

I have decent skill concerning computers : I have 60 computers under my responsibility on my professional work, I’m not saying I’m better than you guys or even just good, I just meant I’m decent.

On top that I do care of my computer: I use CCleaner, JkDefrag, Avira, AdwCleaner. I just mean every time somebody get a computer issue he instantly run over me, even with my friends and my family (-.-)

So this my main computer :

Operating System : Windows 7 Edition Familiale Premium ‎(X64)‎ Service Pack 1
Processor : Intel Core i3 2100 / 3.10 GHz
Socket : Socket 1155 LGA
MotherBoard : PEGATRON CORPORATION 2AB6 1.04
RAM : 6 Go DDR3 (3 Barrette Micron Technology of 2 Go)
Graphic Board : NVIDIA GeForce 405
Hard Drive : WDCWD20EARS-60MVWB0 de 1.82 To SATA II

I’m not running steam with this game

I’ve tried these things on the 2 computers :

Running the game as admin
Unistall the game and reinstall the game 3 times
Unistall the antivirus totally
Updated Windows
Updated all the driver
Cleaning all this mess properly with CCleaner and co

The Witcher is one the best game ever made and I just can’t play to it.

Thanks for spending on your time to read my post.

Please Help me.

Does running from the witcher exe allow the game to start ? You can find the witcher exe in the witcher/system folder . Did you also remove the Tages drivers ?

I give up.

It costs 1,69 euros on Steam.

So I will restart the game for the 4th time...

OK let`s start from the beginning . Is your game a disc version or Steam ? If Steam did you run a game cache integrity check ?

I forget to mention I have got exactly the same problem with The Witcher 2

I run it on admin and nothing happen. Even thought when I push Ctrl + Alt + Supr : nothing happen, not even just a sec.

I just do not undertand at all (-.-)

I did run the witcher exe form the racine file.

If you`re trying to run Witcher 2 on this computer then it`s not gonna happen . You`ll need a better video card for that .
Anyway tech support for W2 s here http://forums.cdprojektred.com/forums/40-Tech-Support

The witcher 2 runs with this card when I do not use full screen^^

I admit I didn't tried the " Tages drivers"

I think all these stuffs are senless... The game should work without all these manipulations

I will buy a new computer to make the witcher 3, you think I should pick Windows 7 or 8 ?

The original Tages drivers from 5 years ago are not compatible with windows 7 and windows will block them and keep them from loading . You need to remember when Witcher 1 came out XP was the predominant system and there is no way that CDPR or any other game developer can see into the future with what Microsoft has in store for later OS developments . The fact that Witcher 1 plays on XP , Vista , 7 , and 8 says a lot . Oh you might have to make some changes with the outdated drivers but that goes for other software too .

As for Witcher 3 either should be fine as long as it`s a 64 bit system .

Let's say the original Tages drivers from 5 years ago are not compatible with windows 7. why does it runs one month and suddenly stop ?

And I've got exactly the same problem with The Witcher 2 ?

Have you a tutorial for those Tages drivers ?

Morrowind runs very well on 7 even over modded

Since you`ve got the Steam version I see no reason to bother with it but for the disc version all you need to know is here .
