Lawsuit is happening sad days ahead

+
CDPR isn't going to abandon Cyberpunk because of all this drama. CDPR will flourish again, and so will this IP. By the time this actually makes it to a courtroom, the game will already be in a vastly superior state compared to launch. They won't lose, they're going to win. Even if they lose the lawsuit, they will still win so long as they support the game. Considering that the game is printing money right now, the future may be rocky, but it will be bright for the devs and their work.

This isn't even making it to a court room.

At worst it'll be settled out of court to avoid a long protracted legal battle where only the lawyers get richer.

The stocks are on a steady rise since they dropped and if CDPR fixes the game this lawsuit will have nothing going for it.

fun fact, CDPR Stock price is right now practically same value as year ago... (274zl vs 279zl year ago) so technically, investors who bought the stock in January (mentioned in the class lawsuit docs) did not lose their original investment...

Yea, and I bet none of those investors made money off that dip... lawsuit my a**. ;)

plus, stock tanked on december 4th... not on december 10th... at release it was already going down quite drastically for 6 days....

Yea, but they also told people not to expect a GTA like game... but still an action adventure... not a RPG. Let's face it, they didn't tell us anything, really. Just that the game was great and had Keanu Reeves in it.

GOG calls it an RPG today. Night City Wire they called it a 'deep RPG' and 'RPG first' just a month before release

but yeah, they didnt call it an RPG at all

I hope it goes well for them and it only remains in an agreement, to give a certain amount of money and not go to court. I don't want this company to go bankrupt, it's one of my favorites

I doubt CDPR will go bankrupt from all this, but they are probably going to be scarred by it in the long run. They aren't a company that has a corporate giant like Microsoft and EA to lean on, if they make a bad game.

Looks like the lawsuit is happening hopefully cdprojektred can recover and fix the game and add new content/restore to the game.

You don't really understand how these kinds of lawsuits actually work .....

Here's basically how this will play out, the Hedge Funds and other Big Investors (AKA extremely wealthy people who don't like losing money or being lied to) will kick out pretty much all of upper management, put several of "their Guys" on the Board of Directors and basically seize control of the corporation leaving the founders Minority Investors with maybe one Token Seat on the Board and a figurehead with no power in Management ......

They won't run the company out of business nor let the game flounder because there is way too much money at stake and money to be made ..... However I expect that CP2077 online MP will end up being another money grubbing money grab but it won't really matter because all the Fanboys/CDPR Cult will justify it anyway because that's how Fanboys/Cults always work ..... Just like so many of them justify all the lies we were told by Upper Management and the founders ......

Its funny, though, because I remember quite a lot of drama around the release of Witcher 3. Multiple delays, accusations of a graphical downgrade, performance issues on consoles, bugs & glitches and cut content (remember how they were planning to include Iorveth?) Yet in the months between base game release & the 1st expansion, the game recieved so much polish & free DLC that it is now seen as "Game of the Generation" by so many.

There is a world of difference between cutting quests and cutting mechanics. TW3 was features complete

You're right in saying that TW3 had a rough launch from a technical standpoint but it was still nothing that justified pulling it off the Playstation store.

As threatened earlier in December, CD Projekt S.A. is being taken to court in the United States over claims that the bug-ridden state of Cyberpunk 2077's PS4 and Xbox One releases were hidden from investors, causing them to incur losses. Now the company has responded to acknowledge the class action suit, with a brief statement saying it will defend itself vigorously.

I'm glad the company is fighting back. Go CDPR, don't give in to these ungrateful "fans" and "investors"

I) bet that if you investigate the people that are suing are the ones that bought stocks in March, when the value fell because right after that it doubled in value. I highly doubt any one of those investors lost any money at all, they are just pissed they won't make double their investment back.

Also, the company was overvalued anyways.

But their reason of the game being partially wrongfully presented and advertised is quite a legit reason.

If CDPR disclosed that the game was buggy on consoles before release (no software house ever does that since the beginning of time), let's say on release date minus x, the stock would have sunk on release date minus x, instead of release date. Nothing would have changed for investors (if not for the few that bought stock a few days before release), they would have lost money regardless.

Buying shares is like betting in a casino, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

This game was not developed for PS4. SONY is the main issue. They should know what they are selling.

Is the drug maker to be blamed if Sony sells drugs at PS Store?

Btw, Ghost of Tsushima is perfect at PS4. Awesome game made by awesome developers.
