Leaked video, question

Seems like everyone here already saw the 2 minutes leaked video from Gamescom...

CDprojekt could you please release the same 2' gameplay video footage, but in HD?

After all, it's not secret anymore...

There have been similar requests before.

I'll reiterate my opinion: No.

I'd rather have them spend time perfecting the engine and the game itself and then putting out sexy bug-less glitch-less hiccup-free 1080p footage.
Anyway, wouldn't it be odd for CDProjekt to change the timeline over what a third party went on to do?

That's what I mean, CDprojekt could block or shut down the video on youtube, they didn't. So I conclude that they _want_ us to see it. Why don't they release just those 2 minutes?

They did try to contain the leak early on (didn't work, never does). I think they stopped trying now. It still doesn't mean they want people to see it. Also, a higher quality version would make glitches or unfinished stuff more apparent.

Still I do not think having a bad quality videos is any better, I do understand the necessity to have demos on close doors but when things like this happen people will get the wrong idea either way. It is even worse this way, it will be great if they show this officially since there is no turn back now.

They aren't going to show a high quality vid of an incomplete product. That would be much worse.

I do not know, people did created a topic about the witcher senses, when we barely see anything. Either way people are going to assume but I do understand their stance believe me.

Or you just recognize more unfinished details.

Releasing it now would be just like encouraging more sneaky "journalists" to take leaked videos. It'd be quite weird of CDPR, would it not?

It would be illogical of them to do, but more importantly, consider this: not 'everyone' has seen this video. In fact, the only people that have seen this video are the people LOOKING for TW3 footage, i.e. people who are already interested in the game and will most likely buy it. We know that the game is going to be good, and that the footage is pre-alpha. Hardly any damage done.

Now if they release an official video, that will make it onto games sites, and people who are still unsure whether they want to buy TW3 or not will see the video. They won't care that the footage is pre-alpha; after all, it's official footage by CDPR, so they will judge the game based on that footage. The result would be that potential customers (and potential fans) are scared off by unfinished and buggy gameplay footage.

Yes for the general public this is the best solution for the core fandom not so munch, so yes in a way I understand why it was a close demo and why they will not release it. Maybe we will have something by the end of the year.

The ones pining for a glimpse of the footage will be the same ones who'll get bitch-fits on seeing a video of an unfinished game. It's better CDPR release the game when it's worth showing.

despite the recording being in crappy quality as expected, still the footage seemed cool, would be nice if they release it like how others are releasing gameplay demos.

and, I SAW GERALT JUMP!!! WOO-HOO! :D

I really doubt they do not already have HQ recordings of their own gameplay demos at the various cons. They could release one or more of those with minimal effort to make their fans happy and generate a lot of buzz.

Sure, but it should still be their decision on when they release the video, not ours, and definitely not as a result of some so-called journalist who can't keep his/her word.
