leaving loot with merchants

I hear that with the new version I can leave some of my loot with merchants so that I don't have to carry it around. Is this true? If so, how do I do it? I can't seem to find out how to do it.

For example if you are in chapter one, go to tavern basement and talk to owner or if you look carefully!, opposite side of door which leading to brothel room, will be a chest, you can store your staff there without talking to owner!!!...

In each Act, there is a merchant with a storage chest. You can talk to the merchant, or use the storage chest directly. (In Act II, there are two: one for each path.)

In Act I, see Dyson Beaver, the downstairs bartender. The chest is at the end of the bar. In earlier patch levels, there was a bug: talking to him opened the buy/sell screen instead of the storage screen. So use the chest.

In Act II, there are two: one for each path. You cannot use the one on the other path: you will lose items that way. I believe this was fixed in 1.35 so that you cannot access the wrong storage chest.

On Iorveth's path, the merchant is the Innkeeper at The Cauldron, and the storage chest is in your room.

On Roche's path, the merchant is Raymond Gessler, the dwarf outside the whores' tents, and the storage chest is in the same area.

In Act III, see the Innkeeper at the Eternal Fire, just beyond the corner of the marketplace where Bras of Ban Ard hangs out.

Yes, to the chest on your own path.
