Ledge Grab not working

In almost every instance were I need to grab a ledge I cannot. Instead Geralt will kick off the wall. This has lead to several quests being impossible to complete. Basically anything that requires you climb a ledge I cannot complete and instead have to reload from a previous save.

Well it finally happened. I tried to kill the forktail for Yen and I can't get out of the cave. Meaning I cannot progress the story anymore.

If you're on PC there is a solution, but it will not fix the bug.
I downloaded the console mod on nexusmode

Then i used the command " spawnbarrel() " several time, and i managed to jump on the barrel, then on my platform.
As i said it's a solution, not a fix.
Also i continued the game after the quest where i was stuck due to this bug and i was able to climb again, for no particular reason.

Luckily I am on PC, thanks for the suggestion.
It's shit like this that makes me pirate most games before I buy them. Instead I basically wasted my money on yet another broken game. Guess I should just follow my rule of never buying before playing.
