With the game less than 30 days before it hits the shelves... I want to know if the US version of the Witcher 2 will be censored or not.... I want to pre-order the boxed CE version of the game but am waiting for an official update before I do so. I have preordered the Good Old Games version but I want an uncensored boxed copy of the CE version as well...... Please someone tell us whats going on..... Thanks!!

And no censored versions – so no wondering about importing the game, nudity patches, etc."The release version, uncensored, received an ESRB "M" rating, meaning retailers in general will carry it, but you must be age 17 or older (with photo ID to prove it) to buy it. Most retailers will card purchasers of "M" games as a matter of store policy and what they see as being good citizens, even though they are not required to by law.

Well thats good news folks!!!...Although, it's kind of difficult for me to believe the US version won't be censored since the original game was big time.... Now I am wondering why it 's different this time? The original Witcher was rated "M" so logically I would think The Witcher 2 would get the same treatment,,,, Hmmmm

I suspect the North America version of TW1 was self-censored out of an abundance of caution. And TW2 doesn't have the "French postcards"; its use of sex appears to be more integrated and mature.

It's been 3.5 years since the first game came out, and some M-rated releases in the interim have moved the whole gaming industry forward, at least as far as what you can get away with and still be rated "M" are concerned.

You must be a rich guy to preorder from GoG and also a physical CE version. Thumbs up for you!. Alas i can only afford 1 copy.. but i really like the retail copy but it comes with DRM. Guess i can only choose GoG as that can basically support the developer more.
