Lets Talk Immersion...

I am absolutely down with girls hitting gym. But what ruins my immersion is the lack of a foking TOGGLE WALK button, I mean TW3 has it, you could have copy-pasted it, but instead you just deleted it. Add TOGGLE WALK, plox!!! PLS CD PROJEKT RED you'll make me happy

i want that to, at the start you see v looking his hands and drinking a shot and you think oh this game is going to be great, and well, you know... shit, the world is plasterboard with a lot to garbage to loot. immersion? where?

If you expect an immersive RPG experience to be handed to you on a platter, then maybe you should rethink what an RPG is. There have been some short-sighted comments thrown around from people who seemed to have finished the game already and are complaining about it being a dull game. Sure there are some gaps, BUT, getting to the finish line as quickly as possible isn't how this game is intended to be played. I am really impressed with the classic RPG vibe. Admittedly from a technical gameplay view, it didn't meet the hype. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

The narrative building is very good so far. I'm chilling, playing things at a slow pace, often stopping to put the pieces of the world together in my tiny pea brain. There is a lot here, the social commentary is damn good. The greatest enjoyment comes when you don't put your preconceived expectations at the centre and go in.

I don't know about you, but my most satisfying things in life are things that ask us to put in the effort. There is a damn good game here, will be nice when the 5-minute attention span man-children stop crying about it.

I can't start a new thread, so I chippin' in here. I hope CDPR employee can see this post, if you (the CDPR employee) see this post, please let the story manager know or whoever's in charge of the NPCs in game, Our beloved little purple Moxes girl here needs an actual name please!!! She's such a cool babe! And as an artist myself, I can see how much effort the artist put in to create her, her dressing style, her overall color theme, her make-up, dude, she's like an icon avatar of cyberpunk itself, she deserves more love, please give her a real name, and maybe make some story about her later on in a DLC or something, otherwise, it will be a huge waste of assets. Trust me.

Thank you very much, have a nice day.

I feel the more games come out they just keep snatching features and whatnot out that didn't need to be or they just simply forgot, having something like a speed limiter on vehicles would make sense too no? The city is pretty tight and crowded, I do use the controller at times for driving but switching back and forth between what I'm/others are comfortable is not ideal.

This doesn't have anything to do with the lack of interactivity with the game world.

man i am only talking about interactivity with the world and immersion, i can read all the stuff, and i can read a book too, i can pick all the stuff and manage it in my inventory and maybe this last thing is funny and immersive for some people but not for me. sorry. what are you saying is compatible with what i am saying. Sorry for my english.

I agree its an RPG first and foremost, I've played thousands of games in my life and I've done many things in life to compare how gratifying the quality in each element is and truly appreciate them rather than overlook, for example, I produce music recreationally and I try to look really hard for any sounds in samples I use I don't like or don't sound right, go over everything then sometimes I'll just scrap an entire project because I hate it so much and not work on music for like God knows how long. Point is when I get the quality just right the way I want it I feel so euphoric and overjoyed where I can't help but clap to myself and just smile. It just takes putting in the the time and effort and the right mindstate when in the proper mood to do so. (I feel this paragraph is muddled.)

I wish NPCs would not be so quick to comment when I'm taking too long to respond... Just shut them up please, I'm thinking godamnit... I feel the game is judging me for being retarded... Please, just let me be V, the bad ass, not V, the retarded... We got real life for that... Thank you... *sigh

Lack of interactivity with the city, foodstalls, bars, npcs, too many closed doors. Having my underwear on when I shower, can't get naked, even in my own apartment.
No comments either on lack of clothes, odd considering how they said your looks would play a part in npc reaction. List goes on.

Un-intimidating looking female character goes by gym with a ton of muscle freaks pumping iron. Punches punching bag once and they literally all run for their lives...

So what breaks your immersion so far?
Game is great, need some time to adjust to the first person view but it adds a lot to the immersion. On the long haul the first thing that broke broke my immersion and annoyed me is the bug at the end of the Delamain's quest line (wont go into detail but it was the last last part of the quest line) and car positioning and dancing sometimes. And maybe a little lower crowd/car density in some cases (even though its set to high). Apart from that I am really enjoying NC (and the small bugs are not bothering me at all) ;)

For me not being able to walk is really about it. The occasional bug too but that doesn't bother me so much.
I think this game is magnificent and as such I wouldn't expect everything to be absolutely perfect.
All I hope for is that they stay diligent in addressing the biggest problems and really hope they add a walk keybind.

Framerate dropping every time I turn the camera whilst driving, the fact that the character of V has a clearly defined personality irrelevant of my ideas despite supposedly being a 1st person RPG designed to make you feel like you are experiencing it first hand, the total shell of a city with no real interactivity, the terrible ai that rivals bots in counter strike in terms of reactivity, the fact that the narrative seems a bit jumbled and not flowing correctly, without spoiling, certain characters reacting to you in a way that doesn't really make sense given how recently they were introduced.

Oh and that fucking stock burger asset that people eat but never actually gets eaten. I hate that shit in games where a character eats the same half eaten food in perpetuity, trapped in an animation hell, doomed to never finish their burger. Why must so many games make their characters suffer this purgatory?

Also the bad texture pop in, I don't know if this is common because I haven't seen it mentioned but I have serious texture pop in even on high lod

I think you missed the point of the thread.
The OP did not complain about the story or the lore in the game. They complained about how the game feels hollow because there is not a lot you can do in it and interact with outside of the main and side story missions. I think most of us can agree that the story of the game is pretty good and they did a good job packing it full with lore-bits and pieces that make you get to know the world through reading and hearing about it.

The issue is there are so many roleplay-opportunities, interactive city elements, customizability options, etc missing from the game. Some of which are industry standard at this point, others being in a lot of other RPGs. Nobody says the story or lore is bad, this topic is about immersion and interactivity of the world.

CP2077 might look great, it might have a great story and great missions, it might have a ton of books and articles to read about the world and the lore, it might even run great on your PC (might), but there are areas where it's lacking and Im kind of disappointed by those personally.

I'm constantly cursing back at Jackie in spanish because of that like dude chill, instead they could have done some idle chatter for the characters to go through like "oh i sure hope this ambush is gonna be a thrill eh?" or talking about random stuff not relating to the subject at hand? Asking awkward questions like "sooooo what was life like before you got to Night City?" Rather than "COME ON LETS FUCKING GO V WE NEED TO GET OUTTA HERE"

Not Really Immersion BUT
Yeah man I've been dealing with texture pop-in and even with High LOD for ages on any game. Upgrading didn't really do anything for me its just DirectX's way of dealing with cached assets and whatnot. Remotely what fixed it for me though on 1 game which happened to be GTAV was upgrading RAM Frequency from 2400Mhz to 3600Mhz and the terrible blurry pop-in stopped but I think I also updated my BIOS as well fposhiahioa hahaha. Ultimately though it's just DirectX, when I played MGSV there was a mod that fixed the pop-in and LOD a LOT and it was just a script for DX doing some changes but I'm pretty sure it was more simple to configure for modders.

Toggle walk option needed for PC K&M. Also is there an option to say Goodbye or something to NPCs? just turning around and walking away feels kind of weird.

I feel like myself in reality.

Another thing... don't know if anyone's mentioned it but...

Why can't we buy vehicles on the computer in V's apartment?

No vehicle stores... instead it's second hand ONLY.PNG

Instead we have to buy second-hand cars/steal them (even then we don't own them) [from what I've played so far].

In a city like Night City you'd think you'd be able to hop online and buy a car that drives to your location upon purchase...

something more about immersion, you are walking for the city somebody aproaches you, he says hey man... put his hand on you... you can retry his hand... talk with him or not.. he says come with me i have something good... you can go, you can't....
You go to a bar, you can sit, you can ask for something to drink, to eat, somebody approaches you and tell you are v? bla bla...
You pick a suitcase you have it in one hand, and you only can use pistols...
I want to smoke a cigarrette, my character pick a cigarette and smoke, you are adicted you need your cigarettes. You can take drugs that affect your stats, but you are addicted, camon this thing was in fallout 1.
Animations.... see your hands interact with things, now the game is like play a braindance stop and play enter to pick... go to this mission in the map... yes, like older rpgs.... but...
The mission when you pick the robot this mission was in e3, a brutal cinematic secuence with decisions wow brutal, at the end you pick the militar robot and you put it in your pocket, wtf?... a militar robot in your pocket... the immersion goes to hell..
PD: i edited my post and put commas and points because was dificult to read.... sorry i am trying.

Can't do anything in Night City just kill gang bangers and do few fetch gigs from fixers.
Why they didnt add casinos with poker or blackjack
what happened to pool or darts ?
why so many arcade cabinets and i cant play any of them
I wish i could call prostitute to my apartment and have overnight sex

Night City feels like i am playing Watchdogs there is nothing to do with city. Just look like a tourist take pictures and get out.

You're not alone feeling retarded while deciding what to say, brother. We exist. We cope. We are legion.
