Doesn't anyone here watch foreign movies with subtitles? In a lot of cases, dubbing is sub-par, and it is much preferable to have subtitles with the original voices. Reading subtitles imo is not bad at all. Lost Odyssey had a few different language dubs that you could switch between, and even though I only speak English, I played through the game with subtitles and the Japanese voiceovers because it sounded better than the English dubbing.

For spoken language I prefer the English, but I hope we can get again a nice subtitle in Hungarian as well! ;)

Aaaaand it's Markus Pfeiffer.

Sorry guys, but for an old scrotum, M.P. is just not suited. He also spoke Altair and Ezio and did an excellent job. But Geralt is -what?- 100 years old or smth and sounds like he is in his mid-twenties.
Oliver Siebeck's voice. Is. Just. Perfect. He IS The White Wolf, he sounds old, annoyed and growling. Just as I would imagine Geralt of Rivia. Pfeiffer is just too young. :(

I'm sad. And I shouldn't, cause the game's gonna be great. But...
Simple solution: play the game in English. Doug Cockle IS Geralt imo. Both German guys are worse than him. But I agree that Markus Pfeiffer is a really bad fit for the German voice-over....

Edit: I have to correct myself a little bit. It seems that Markus Pfeiffer could actually sound a lot better and more "true to the role" than he does in the German Witcher 3 trailer. He voiced both the old Ezio and the old Altair in AC Revelatins and he made a pretty decent job there imo. So at least there is hope for the German Geralt if Markus improved a lot to what he delivers on the trailer.... ;)

Contains serious spoilers about AC Revelations but shows his potential: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9XPlxKtHlE

I've never seen someone so upset about not having a dubbed version of the game.
My first language is spanish and I personally don't trust translators at all.
Besides, Emhyr var Emreis is voiced by Charles Dance!, I don't know haw you can turn that away for some sub-par dubbing.

So disappointed with CD projekt, they even dub the game in portuguese and can't dub the game in a languaje more spoken than english like is Spanish (only exceed by chinese)?

It's like a total lack of respect for all the spanish comunity. Well good luck with the game, looks fantastic but I am gonna stick with Ubisoft or EA, their policy is horrrible but at least they translate the games completly.

I don't think thats necessarily their choice, I think that the reason why the game will be dubbed in brazilian portuguese is because of Warner Bros Games Brasil, they're dubbing if not every game, almost all games that they're bringing to Brazil, and I believe that its them that will sell the game here.

The thing is, the number of people speaking a language doesn't really matter, if they don't buy the game. I'm guessing Witcher 1 and 2 didn't sell well in Spanish speaking countries. It's the only logical explanation.

This should be true. If The Witcher sold well in Spanish speaking countries it would be stupid to not give them the same treatment as Portugese speaking people.

Me myself have never understood dubing. Here in Sweden we only do it for small childrens TV shows beacuse, well they can't read. Swedish is of course a small language and we mostly don't even get Swedish subtitles in games but I would play it in English anyway. One could of course argue that the game should be played in Polish with whatever subtitles you want but the English voice acting is rather good and I've become atatched to the English voices.

Just let Oliver Siebeck speak Geralt in the german version. For the love of Tamriel, please.

A good translation is vital for a game like this. And having a good and FITTING voice actor for your main character is even more important.

No just no, he doesn't fit Geralt at all.
They already begun dubbing it (including german, with the same Voice Actor as Witcher 2) or are already done with it.

The box will come with protection from fabric I believe. For the stores, they will ship by SEDEX but we have to wait for pre-orders to start.

Second option: pay the higher cost via UPS or DHL and buy from US or UK.

Or wait for the delayed Brazilian edition (IF they release the collectors edition here).

It's the fish that eats it's own tail. Right now Cd projekt its losing lot of sales, if you read spanish forums you can see how lot of people that was about to buy the game when launches now will wait a 10 or 5€ steam sale or even wrost (you know what I mean). So less sales they don't dub it, they don't dub it less sales. Off course CD projekt can do whatever they want as consumers can decide if buy or not. But here it showns the double moral of CD projekt remembering that they are a company like others, cos their marketing is selling we make games for the players and at the same time they are excluding players.

Fans can defend them all they want but there is no reason to do the things right, if the company wants can dub in various languajes and give the option to change languages, if they don't is not cos they can't is cos they don't want.

I dindn't complain when the witcher II was not dubbed (even when the witcher I was dubbed in spanish, horrible but dubbed) but it was like understandable cos wasn't a popular game, and it was focused on pc, CD projekt was growing, etc. But now? Witcher III is one of the most hyped games right now, Cd projekt has grown, Witcher II did a good sales overall, and it's going to launch also in consoles that means it would sell more. So probably the game is gonna sell millions of copies and they can't dubb it in spanish? C'mon!

Also if it's for money they can try to make profits in other ways, for example DCLs are not evil if they are well implemented, how many would have buy a witcher II DCL? I would. I bought the 4 big packs of borderlands 2 and very happy, they could have done the same with witcher II and have money to dubb now witcher III.

I know I know but...I really like all the other voice actors and just love to hear this game in german. Studying both german and english at university but my love for german as a language is just higher than for the english one. Sorry. :p

He COULD but he still sounds too young and especially too high for this job. He tried sounding old and throaty in the prologue of W2 and just sounded lifeless and idk kinda boring. Exerted.

If you think that the german voice actors are worse, fair enough, that's your opinion. Don't know if you're a german native speaker, so I can't really judge you. :p

But speaking AS a german native speaker, Oliver Siebeck did a better job than Markus Pfeiffer. He's just too young. Not growly enough. He's not a wolf. Period.

EDIT: I though my thread was gonna be dead, after no one replied for like 2 weeks. But it exploded in the last couple of days. Awesome! Good to see I'm not the only one concerned with dubbing. :)

I see your goal is 200 signatures. I doubt CDPR would suddenly decide to dub the game just for 200 people.
