  • Game standards?

  • so ive looked around and what i see are things like Stuff, the flaming sword icon for hard, Flash Mod (only till july 8th apparently), ive heard of something called stacked, ive seen retextures for the excellent leather jacket, i think something called texturen which replaces like 3000 textures... i could have sworn i saw something on a different site that was only a bug fix mod... im not sure what else. it seems that this game doesnt have a mod community nearly as large as oblivion and fallout 3 and such, so i guess i cant really expect much. ive also heard this game is very easy to mod, but how its also limited in its abilities due to its linear story line and other stuff. im trying to give myself a reason to replay it, but id want it to be a completely different, updated and advanced playthrough. i ilke playing things through once before modding it so i know what things do and do not add.ramble, ramble...sorry, but in the end, im lookin for people to list the mods they're using and the ones that really make a difference.

Do you mean mods to improve the gameplay experience or new playable Adventures? If it's the former, you've listed everything I know except the mods for allowing Kalkstein or the Dentist to store goods in Chapter V and a mod for making herbs respawn faster.

i dont use added adventure mods cause i cant stand unvoiced/badly voiced/not original voice lines.basically:texture replacersgame mechanic changesthings like what i mentioned ya know?edit 1: what i mean is something like this, too: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=6555.0problem is, link is broken. but i like it cause its simple and fixes two issues i had with how he looks. the scar was distracting and the sleeves are too white for a character who is already pale as a ghost with ridiculous white hair.

What? This game is easy to mod? Which expert told you that and why didn't he mod this game if it's so easy? :whatthe:This game has small modding community and small audience interested in mods. Current version of the biggest mod for The Witcher - Flash mod was downloaded around 2100 times since January 2009!! What kind of audience is this ??? People don't know that The Witcher offers good quality mods, they don't look for The Witcher mods. I could have easily modded Fallout 3, KotOR 1, 2, Morrowind, Oblivion, NWN 1, 2, Dawn of War series, Vampire Masquerade: Bloodlines, Half Life 1,2, Crysis and many more, and release modifications for tens or hundreds of thousands mod-hungry players. These games are easy to mod with often extremely easy to handle tools comparing to The Witcher. This game has little to offer for modders. If it hadn't been for CD Projekt RED's support for modders and the good modding team I've joined, I would have quit a long time ago.

well, aside from flash/FCR, what else is out there?????? id like to make this game something that i dont get tired of immediately, but without mods, its just gonna look and be the same, only on hard instead of normal.are there any mods like the link i posted a couple posts up? something simple like sleeveless or different color sleeves or better face? is the texturen mod recommendable? are there game tweak mods i should know about that everyone (in this small community) agrees is a definite download? classics and such. please do put down some examples and recommendations.

Ah, I just remembered. There are mods for changing the steel sword texture to Anduril(no explanation required) and the silver sword texture to Berengar's. There are also mods for changing Geralt's costume to a back suit with Golden Skulls(love that one), Dragons or Ladies; ;D and if you're not satisfied with the new outfit there are mods for playing as Vesemir, Eskel, City Guard etc. Finally there are the mods for making Triss, Shani and Adda's nightdresses transparent and for removing the dresses altogether and showing them nude in their bedrooms. Whew, I think that's about it.PS. I missed one. There are also coloured skins for the Lady of the Lake to make her look more... inhuman.

interesting. i found a couple OOOOOLLLLLD threads that have scar removal of geralts face, a chainmail shirt instead of the all white shirt, an all black texture for the excellent leather jacket, a mod that adds 3 quick slots and 2 small weapon slots to excellent leather jacket, the texturen mod, a flaming sword icon for hard difficulty... some other stuff. im somewhat happy. ill probably use the Stuff mod and FCR when it comes out.im just wondering what the 1.5 patch will change on july 8th...any other suggestions?
