List of Missing Options (and Features)

+
here’s a list of needed improvements/features over the coming months/years to take this game from a 6 or 7/10 to the 9/10 we were promised:

AI
  • Police – First responders / Vehicle response / SWAT response / Air response / Active chase
  • Civilians – Varied reactions to player actions, not just crouch in terror or jump away from or in front of your moving vehicle
  • Gangs – More diverse reactions and behaviours. Distinct abilities from gang to gang / less standing still / gang chases, etc.
  • Vehicles – Cars should drive around obstacles, like the players car or other vehicles
  • Bikes – Let’s see motorbikes as well as cars. Just imagine gangs on motorcycles that you should either avoid or gun down
  • Medics – When a civilian is injured, a small chance for an ambulance to spawn
WORLD
  • Barber/Hairdressers – Or at the very least, using your apartment mirror to edit hair/makeup
  • Car shops – Customise your vehicle and buy vehicle variants. Could be used as well as the random quest marker leading to a new car in the middle of nowhere
  • Travel options – What happened to the train line? Or taxi’s? The infrastructure is there but the feature's gutted
  • Merchants - More interactive shops; there are tons of shop keepers with no interactivity. Even sitting/eating/drinking prompts would be an improvement here.
  • Mini-games – they aren’t the most important thing and we will probably only mess with them a few times, but just knowing “activities” exist somewhere adds to the immersion.
  • Weather – We were promised dynamic weather, rain, dust storms, fog, etc. but in 70+ hours of gameplay, I’ve seen rain twice and one scripted dust storm. Where’s the weather? And the acid rain? And NPC's sheltering because of the rain?
  • Dynamic world events – There are shootouts and random voice lines here and there, but what about actual world events that briefly transform an area?
  • Map development – The city is big and beautiful but the Badlands is heavily under-developed
STORY
  • Life paths - A more in-depth story for each of the life paths? A 10-20 minute intro before divergence is not what was promised. Even tweaking the quest chain to encourage the player to do story missions in their life path area would be an improvement here. E.g. The Nomad life path begins with a chain of side quests in the Badlands prior to meeting Jackie. Something went very, very wrong in development here; uploaded only 4 months ago
  • Braindance – Let us use Braindance’s outside of the main story? Or create a whole new type of braindance side quest? Being a feature in this episode seems pointless in highsight
  • Cut characters - Deeper development of certain slimmed down characters, e.g. Meredith Stout
APPEARANCE
  • Show me, me - More opportunities to view your character in the open world; cut scenes or...
  • Mirrors – V is for Vampire? Let mirrors work in the open world (probably deactivated due to how derpy V looks in third person – see shadows)
APARTMENT
  • Apartment progression – upgrade over time / acquire new apartments as you progress
  • Weapon wall - Display custom weapons – not just legendary's - on the apartment wall
  • Wardrobe – A visual area in V’s apartment to try out new gear
  • Garage/storage area - To admire cars/bikes!
INVENTORY/ITEMS
  • Preview clothing items - Before equipping/purchase
  • Hide items from view - E.g. Hat/mask/glasses/etc.
  • Select multiple items
  • Favourite items
  • More item stat variety
  • Item labels - Per gang/style?
  • Item sets - Something to work towards?
  • Improved weapon modding - Editing mods without needing to equip the weapon
  • Item limits/stacks - A limit on certain items (unlimited healing inhalers seems broken?)
DRIVING
  • Radio UI - Display station / artist / song
  • Car handling - Slightly improve “stickiness”/handling with some cars
COMBAT
  • More diverse weapons
  • Dismemberment - Properly implement dismemberment a la trailers of old? Perhaps I still haven't found the right gun type to simulate this type of carnage? (Let me know!)
  • Vehicle combat Shoot weapons from vehicles outside of story/side quests
ANIMATIONS
  • Getting new Cyberware - Not just for the first time
  • Purchasing a car
  • Getting a new weapon
These should all feel like significant satisfying progressive moments... a sense of pride and accomplishment

LOOTING
  • “Loot all” option
  • Loot through bodies/other items – Can’t loot certain items due to angles/bugs/surfaces
UI
  • Minimap zoom options - Zoom out proportional to driving speed
  • More customisation options for QoL

I'll hereby let you know that I get plenty of that. However, I feel it's related to the "over damage" dealt on weaker opponents.

Meaning if the opponent got 100 health points and you deal 101 to kill him, it's less likely to cut or shoot parts off than if you deal 500 damage, basically obliterating the foe.

When I use my havy sniper rifle, heads rarely remain in place. Weak opponents heads go plop even using my silenced revolver. Less carnage on weak weapons with high fire rate tho. Sharp melee weapons slice off body parts regularily too - but sadly it's been a LONG time since I found a good sword and rarely use them anymore (not about to use those ugly machete or kitchen knifes).
  • add more and better swords and diversity
... feels like we got only one Katana with different textures plus a bunch of garbage knifes ...

The two posts above are great. Let me add the "adjustment of the first person camera while driving" as another suggestion. Its just too narrow. A lot of irl driving works via peripheral vision. So we need a bigger FOV here. Having to frantically move our head while driving is neither fun nor realistic.

Dear CDPR (but really the chooms on the forum),

I finished and loved the game, but damn is it frustrating to see so much potential wasted. After giving it some thoughts, I prepared a very long list of options I would have liked to see in the game. But, since your community is really amazing, most of these options have already been covered on this forum. So yeah, I’m just going to add the ones I didn’t already see mentioned before. They may not all be priorities (far from it), but here goes:

Reasons to use V’s apartment (or her/his other hideouts):
  • Give the shower some utility: for example, showering could add a temporary buff. Alternatively, not showering for some time could apply some dirt/blood decals on V and reduce the street cred amount gained until showered.
  • Add some mini-games that would increase V’s stats over time (idk like a chess game that would increase intelligence or a jumping rope that would increase dexterity) or… just because they’re fun?
  • Add the possibility to move in with your mate. I was thrilled when Judy gave me access to her apartment, but very disappointed to see that it basically meant nothing more than before. V could have the opportunity to make her/his new default apartment by moving all the important stuff to his/her mate flat (like the cat, the decorations acquired through the story or the previously mentioned mini-games and shower).
  • Aaaand once that you moved in, it also means more intimacy: why not capitalize on the intimate animations already used during the joytoy intercourses with your one and only? It would be a harmless way to maintain a strong relationship between the time you finish the personal quest of you lover and the time you end your own personal quest (the end of the game).

More casual interactions with NPCs (in general and particularly with your true love):
  • Add some casual interactions that would not be directly linked to killing every one in your way. I recall the Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3 -maybe the only thing the game really succeeded: it gave you the opportunity to actually discover your crewmates outside of bloodsheds and explosions and to have fun with them before the final mission and the end of the trilogy… I think CP2077 would truly gain in depth with that kind of interactions because it adds weight to the storyline. Given the context of the game, it should not be a problem to find some fun activities to do.
  • Some quick examples I found without thinking much: inviting your friends/lovers to the concert you can make as Johnny, throwing a final party, go at the theatre, go to the restaurant, or wherever couples or friends do… Another nice addon would be to give the opportunity to reveal your true name to the ones you hold dear (Valerie/Vincent).
  • Add more interactions through texting: seriously it quite literally costs nothing to implement since it requires no animations nor voice acting. Just plain texts. And it can really make a difference.

Add some plastic surgery (different from implants):
  • Basic plastic surgery things, like changing your nose or whatever. This kind of thing could be very costly, since it’s just a physical aesthetic change in a world where everything is usually solved through cybernetics and mechanics.
  • Skin pigmentation, with more fanciful options than the “natural ones”, like new colours or new textures (I saw some npcs with this kind of “plastic” shiny skin and thought that it could be an option for the player).
  • Gender swap through voice and/or genitals. It’s 2077, so yeah, I guess swapping gender could be something much more casual than in our world, and it would allow players to romance NPCs than were unavailable for them.

General exploration and immersion:
  • Add the possibility to buy audio devices. I know that someone already mentioned the idea on this thread but I fear It may have been overlooked since it was in a short comment. It would be nice to give V the possibility to listen to music the player would import from his/her mp3 files through a retro-futuristic Walkman. Not to mention the possibility to listen to the amazing radio this game has, of course. Music has so much importance in this game (from plain scenario gimmick to quests names and astounding soundtrack), this could add another layer.
  • Add random shops unrelated to weapons, armors or implants. Casinos, karaokes, gifts for NPC’s, interior decorations, and many other already mentioned, like BD shops, barbers or tattoo shops. On the topic of tattoos: the possibility of having temporary make-ups that would fade after an amount of time could be interesting for players who like their appearance to change dynamically.
  • Add random events, involving the player being attacked by head hunters (bounty hunters paid by corporations, jealous mercs or gangs, crazy stalkers or whatever) for example.

My general impression, that I try to express trough theses propositions, is that the game lack in quality. Outside of the very well written main missions, the game can pretty much be summed up by “go from point A to point B, kill 10 enemies, loot 2 or 3 items on each of these enemies, repeat a 100 times over” …
As the great prophetess Judy once wisely said: “quality over quantity, V”.

My wishes regarding future addons, that IMO would add to immersion or just be nice in general:
- zoom out the minimap while driving, and/or (when following a set marker) add some visual cue onto the road itself (like the arrows on the ground when we're racing), so that we don't have to watch the little dotted line so closely at all times
- let us sit in the ripper chairs when getting new implants
- heat/night vision for kiroshi optics
- let us see what the items we're about to craft look like in the crafting menu, before we craft them
- select items for dismantling at once
- train riding cutscenes while fast traveling from stations, like in spiderman on ps4
- a search option to filter the shards list

*Better lighting or filters that alter the look of the game similarly to the Demon's Souls remake filters. There is something wrong with the default look when my character's (normal) eyes appear completely black in front of a mirror and their face looks like a potato in most angles.

*The cyberware installed at ripperdocs should reflect on the character's appearance. And the cyberware cosmetics in the character creator should be removed as they add nothing practical.

The picture above is from a game called Daemon X Machina. I'm using it as an example because I think it does body modification much better than Cyberpunk 2077 and most other games that do this type of thing. By the end-game you can look like Robocop, an Arasaka samurai, a Militech supersoldier or a salad of cyberware (parts are interchangeable).

You can also go at the lab and change your appearance, gender and even voice whenever you feel like it.

I should also note that in this game you can opt-out from installing any cyberware. Something I wish Cyberpunk 2077 allowed you to do for challenge runs and, why not, for purists. But you can't make progress if you don't visit Viktor.

After over 150 hours of gameplay, the main thing I want is more quests like The Pickup with player choice and consequences like a true RPG. Where everything from how you approach and do the mission has different effects during and after the quest.

Some other improvements I want to see.

Quests:
- Horror-like missions, it's such a missed opportunity in a world where people go psycho from too many implants, to not have something scarier than what is in the game.
- Investigation missions where you can accuse the wrong person and f**k up.
- Cyberpsycho missions where you talk to victims/corpos/gangs affected before you hunt them down.
- Another heist quest, where you need to hire a netrunner, gun for hire, and driver.
- More hangout and get to know the NPCs quests, Viktor, Mama Wells, Missy.
- Main story was waaaayy to short, I would buy a DLC of that 6 month period jump.

Gameplay:
- Needs more balancing, its way too easy to get OP early in the game no matter the build.
- Some perks should be changed or removed.
- Food/drink with different effects.
- Melee needs more attacks and animation changes as you level up.
- More implants that change up the gameplay.
- Allow us to watch braindances we bought.
- Missions where we can use a mech.
- More boss fights, cyberpsychos can be varied like Witcher monster contracts, since they have changed their bodies so much.

HUD/GUI:
- To turn off and be able to change colors on all the different HUD elements.
- Be able to craft more than one item at a time.
- Phone messages button should take you to that person's messages not a list of everyone on your phone.
- You should be able to map your favorite quickhack to the shoulder button, for a quick tap to use that hack for better flow in combat, kinda like a grenade throw.
- Preview clothing in shops.
- Zoom out on the minimap when driving.
- Untrack quests so you don't constantly have a waypoint.
- Option to turn off the phone, or rework the barrage of calls and messages you get when doing other quests.

Housing:
- If we cant have more apartments, let us furnish the one we have and express ourselves.
- More apartments.
- Different pets, my cat is lonely.
- More net investigations using the computer (The secret world had some cool quests using the in-game browser).
- Mannequins like in The Witcher to show off your favorite outfit combos.
- Show of the guns that I want to, not just the predetermined ones.
- Have a garage to show off some/all of your cars.
- Quests involving your apartment (hang out with Panam/Judy/Kerry/River)
- V`s mega building needs more stuff to do.

Night city:
- Add more places to enter.
- Add minigames (pool, darts, bowling, gambling, cyber-gwent)
- Add more shops, furniture, pet shops, car dealers.
- Stuff to do in the ocean.
- Use the bars for more quests and activities.
- More weather patterns.
- Do something more with the gangs like in Fallout New Vegas.
- Bring back subway trains and let us ride them.
- Night city tours in flying cars.

Visual/cosmetics:
- Face implants and other implants that change the look of V.
- More and better headgear.
- Make all NPC clothes available to purchase in shops.
- Gun visual customization.
- Car/bike visual customization.

At this point I just want an inventory which doesn't crash the game.

W3 had this same problem, guys, and it was fixed. Right, CDPR? How about fixing it again in v1.07?

I have a list, but I think this time I would like only to ask a tiny fix or maybe a improvement.

Fallout 4 map as example below. I felt extremely hard to find the places, and I was wandering along NC not knowing any places I visit, but following the quests. I can barely remeber where is Arasaka Tower. If you ask me to go there right now, I would have to pause the game and google search the location, or any other bar, or whatever. Now that I finished the game, I don't know the places to visit if not driving around the city and checking every corner. But this is sooo boring because I have to in and out of the vehicule and takes so much time.

Improving icons like F4 will be great, so you can feel more intimate with the city. Maybe even choose a local to travel by foot or by car.

I would be extremely happy to NOT have to dress like a circus clown with a majority of the armor and clothes to have a decent armor rating. Standard denim and leather have been a mainstay since the 1800's and I doubt thats going to change in the next 50+ years. I fail to believe neon colors, pokadots, and henta stickers are going to make my clothing any more durable.

Please make the masses of cosmetic items (clothing and cyberware) that are in the game already available for players to wear. Don't see why NPCS have so many more customisation options?
