I installed the game and immediately patched it to v1.2. The game started okay and I played through the introduction. After Leo's cremation, when I parted ways with Triss, the game crashed to the desktop. I believe it was attempting to load Vizima. When I tried to relaunch the game, it complained [pre]Please insert original DVD of "The Witcher"! ***[/pre]After searching, I came across a couple of suggestions. The first was http://forums.eu.atari.com/showpost.php?p=1562810&postcount=5. This had no effect. The second was http://forums.eu.atari.com/showpost.php?p=1645710&postcount=19. Interestingly this worked exactly once but loading the most recent save game crashed. All subsequent attempts failed.I did some more research and was advised to try installing an update to Tages however the version on the disk seems to already be the latest (5.5.3.1). I tried anyways but uninstalling and re-installing it had no effect. This is a 2GB Core 2 Duo 6300 machine running Windows XP Pro with an NVidia 7900 GS running the latest 169.21 drivers. There is no emulation software running. Nor is there anti-virus software. If this *is* due to the copy protection software, I'm pretty unimpressed. You're only penalizing your paying customers. It'll be pretty galling if I have to hunt down and install some crack just to get the game working.Other observations: despite claims to the contrary, the 1.2 patch didn't seem to appreciably speed up save-game loading. Compared to the demo, (which I play to completion and uninstalled), loading is quite slow. Also, during the introduction when Geralt is being carried back to Kaer Morhen, the camera pans the castle from a distance up behind a rocky outcrop. I found that the panning was jerky; one could sense the periodic redrawing of the scene. My graphics card shouldn't have had problems with that scene should it?Please supply a fix soon as I won't be able to play this game after the holidays.Thank you,Keith
