Loading a save file causes game crash

I bought TWEE on steam a few days ago, i've been playing it a lot, 40 hours alredy. I was in chapter III and the game crashed when I was fighting the salamandra in the sewers.

The game only crashed twice before and I didn't have any problems but now everytime a try to load a save game the game crashes. (BEX error)

I searched the internet all night looking for a solution, I had 6 save files I've tried deleting 4 but still I can't load any save. For some reason contacting tech support doesn't work either, when I press submit the page never finish loading. Please help!!!

I had one (neverending) load issue with my Witcher1 EE but it was fixed with disabling autosaves. But not sure if you can do that (or if it helps) if you can't load any saves at all. Sadly I'm lousy with computers :( Also one solution to some problem which I can't remember anymore, was to let the game roll just a little bit of that cutscene at the very beginning before pushing any buttons. If you manage to get that far, you can try it.

That's an interesting one. A BEX is Buffer Overflow Extention...and I haven't come across anything like this in years. Nothing is leaping off the page at me from the dxdiag.

To start, try disabling all overlay features through Steam / GOG. Most of what I remember about this had to do with Internet Explorer years ago. If using running Internet Explorer while running the game, try closing it out. You may even want to make Chrome or Firefox your default browser and see if that has any effect.

Shooting blind at the moment. Let me know if this any effect!

Also, it might be a good idea to send this into CDPR Support via another PC or your phone...whatever. The Official Tech Dudes/Dudettes (OTD's) :p might be able to zero in on this faster than we will. In conclusion: No. This should not be happening, and it's almost certainly a system issue.

Thanks for the reply SigilFey, I've tried disabling the steam overlay but it didn't work. I contacted tech support using chrome (turns out I only had to wait for a long time for the page to finish sending the file I guess). My default browser is firefox.

This is the error registry, it show an error on module MSVCR80.dll ???

Thank god that was in a Latin language.

What is this? 1.31 is the latest version. Plus, witcher.exe is the .EXE from The Witcher 1.

I don't know, should I be playing a different version? I'm playing the enhaced edition on steam. The launcher gave me 3 options: play the witcher: enhaced edition, launch adventure editor or launch the witcher digital comic.
