Well!! I have heard that the REDKIT has been released today! I even got a change
in my Witcher Start menu Launcher thing soooo maybe we can start and see if the LOD
distance can be changed with that!.
 
REDKit won't change anything because the LOD is hard-coded by the engine so all you can do is make levels, quests etc.

Well Lads, one awesome modder has made something awesome with REDKIT!!! I want to tell you all to check this out!!

I have just been informed by EatChildren (person who made this new mod) that it should also solve the
Rock pop up, twig pop up and skeleton pop up problem!

I am going to check this out.

I have just started a new playthrough, Dark Mode and am still busy with the prologue so I can soon
check out the twig pop up at the forest and after that....
 
Ok lads!!

It seems that this mod REALLY does everything we want it to!!

I am walking around in the woods near Flotsam in Chapter 1 and !!!
No grass that pops up, no twigs and rocks that pop up!!!

The only thing I need to check out is to see what will happen in the
Prologue part near chapter two with the skeletons that pop up!
As soon as I know i will let you all know.
 
Alright, I have been trying out the awesome mod EatChildren made for us and it works quite well indeed!

Although there are some things which, either it hasnt addressed or it just cant fix and might require an other
mod. I am still at Flotsam so it will take some time for me to get to the prologue of chapter 2 and see
if the skeletons pop up or not.

But here are some examples of stuff popping up which I found out playing through Flotsam so far.

1. Flotsam Forest.
Here http://imageshack.us/a/img826/2012/ly3d.jpg at this screenshot you can see marked with a red circle part of a tree branch and a guy standing on an elevated platform. As you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZdlyCVgljwc&feature=youtu.be here you will notice the branch and guy disappearing and popping up as I move closer and further.

2. Troll Bridge.
Here http://imageshack.us/a/img823/4378/9nea.jpg you can see the well known bridge with the Troll underneath it. As you can see marked with a red circle you see part of a broken bridge in the water. As you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OQ9jzC1tIFo&feature=youtu.be in this video this broken piece disappears and pops up again when I move closer and further. Same thing happens with the trees in the distance.

I hope that these things can be fixed one way or the other!
 
Here is one other thing I found out.

3. Flotsam Tavern.
Here http://imageshack.us/a/img713/9873/bu0i.jpg you can see Gerald standing in a door opening facing the Flotsam Tavern and a Tavern patron marked with a red Circle. As you can see here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VahaByQptY&feature=youtu.be when Gerald moves up and down the stairs you can see this person disappear and pop up.
