I don't know- the terms sire and childe are part of the greater vampire lexicon, and not really unique to any particular game or book. I don't know about vitae, but I don't care- everything is inspired by everything else.

cmdr_silverbolt: These terms can be easily found separately in various sources, but all together in such combination - not very likely, unless it's something related to the WoD.

That's a new game based on the World of Darkness?

It's not.
WoD Online is the only official expected but it's stuck.

You are right (it is used in Buffy series too).
As for "vitae" that is also part of the general knowledge. Since the roman empire there was the habit of drinking the enemies blood and vitae is the latin word for "lives". Guys at the Whitewolf used in the corebook, but it's not a © term.

Same for terms as ghoul, Prince, revenant, diablerie, golconda, rotschrek, wassail...

secondchildren: Yeah, it's not about inventing the terms. It's about consistently using them together for the same context.

There are a lot of different vampire adaptations, and they don't all use the very same rules.
Dark could be fun, considering there is no other vampire game around, in wait for World of darkness who will come in 2015 if we're lucky ..

Actually, now that you make me think, I don't know whether it could be a matter of copyright or not. I mean in that videogame specifically, coz the similarities with WOD are impressive to the point that many of us have thought to a WOD game. And it's not excluded that a Whitewolf guy may have had a part in it.
Anyway, probably it would be more consistent if they also used terms like Camarilla, Sabbat, Carthians, Invictus, Malkavian, Brujah, Ventrue etc. Or the vampire genesis.
Don't know what to think. Except that I'm not impressed by the game. />

Please enlighten be, because so far I see no similarities between DARK and WoD except for like... 3 words or something (Vitae, Sire and Childe... and Ghoul, except a Ghoul in DARK is something completely different than a Ghoul in WoD is).

Those are old and out of date terms. Many of those clans are no longer present in WoD (since WoD 2.0, which was at that point named New World of Darkness, but is currently changed to simply World of Darkness, where as the old World of Darkness is now named Classic World of Darkness). Many of those clans are now bloodlines (clans and bloodlines are no longer the same thing in WoD).

The sects such as the Camarilla, the Sabbat and the Anarchs are also completely gone. They are now replaced by covenants, such as the Ordo Dracul, the Carthian Movement, the Invictus and the Lacea Sanctum.

Look at that trailer carefully then, coz it's really full of it. Like the disciplines and the way you handle them.

That wasn't my point, and hon, I know WOD very well (I mean... very!):)

I think the similarities with the disciplines gameplay is not any different than how the gameplay of body augmentations is manifested in games which have that, e.g. augmentations in System Shock and Bioshock series (the latter series admittedly being inspired by the former).

Well I see Geralt Bane has Presence and Domination, which are indeed also disciplines in WoD (which would mean that Geralt Bane is a Ventrue if this is a WoD related game). But then he also has a whole bunch of powers that I've never seen in WoD.

That is awesome! Finally another WoD nutter here! :D We should definitely share our WoD roleplay experiences with each other!

Exactly. There are just too many similarities to claim that there are no derivations from WoD at all. (Obfuscation, domination etc.).

The Witcher voice actor recently "starred" in the game "Dark. and the dialogs in that game were far bellow average. I always felt the Doug's voice was a bit emotionless and bland, even when making jokes, and I attributed it to Witcher's style. They are cold and relatively emotionless. But here, the blandness was just bad, and the voice (exact voice of the witcher) just made me feel a bit uncomfortable. I mean when you hear the voice again in Witcher you dont feel as good. I dont know, it kinda ruined it for me. But I could be wrong, judge it yourself and tell me what you think?

If the hype of Witcher 3 is killing you, this clip and piece of news should help you manage the flames for a while.

Cockle's voice didn't sound so convincing in this trailer...well at least I liked that piece of dialogue I heard from the podcast recorded during the TW3 demo showed at E3. I think it's slightly better than the previous dubbing.
