There's a tool called audacity you can do that with.
Think of any simple sentence like "You will die if you don't give me all of your money".
Even if you luckily get these words from the dialogues of ONE actor, cut them together, polish this for hours it will sound annoying.
It's because every sentence has its own emphases.
You won't believe it as long as you did not try it for yourself.
btw: it's about two years ago that I tried a "text to speech" tool. They should be improved now (in 5 years maybe they might be acceptable).
