I don't if you've ever thought about that, but maybe you could use the existing voice acting? My point is, there are hours of Geralt/Dandelion/Triss talking and CDPR have probably even more records, so maybe you could just cut the existing acting, paste it where you need it, sync it and polish it in order to avoid the voices being too flat? I don't know if it's even possible, just my two cents.

Guess you never tried it out for yourself?
There's a tool called audacity you can do that with.

Think of any simple sentence like "You will die if you don't give me all of your money".
Even if you luckily get these words from the dialogues of ONE actor, cut them together, polish this for hours it will sound annoying.
It's because every sentence has its own emphases.

You won't believe it as long as you did not try it for yourself.

btw: it's about two years ago that I tried a "text to speech" tool. They should be improved now (in 5 years maybe they might be acceptable).

I think the problem with this method is that it would

1) not sound very convincing if I cut several words and parts of sentences together

2) it would probably be muuuuuch more work than actually recording it. There's a reason why these youtube guys who make that only make a few minutes every few weeks. I have a lot more than a few minutes. ;)/>/>

I think you guys may be surprised of how good some of the voice actors are. I am still amazed. And believe me, I searched for a long time until I found the perfect actors. ;)/>/>

As I said, I didn't even know if it's possible. Was just a suggestion. BTW, any chance of uploading some samples of voices you already recorded?

The home of the huntsman after a battue. He will provide Geralt with a lot of contracts.

Great job, but am I seeing this right, that this huntsman has his bed under pig carcasses? :confused:/> He must be really a special man...

Haha, no. It just looks like that on this picture. The area around and above the bed is "pig free". ;)

Update

People have been asking me if I still intend to release Lykaon in December. Unfortunately the answer is no. I've been working on The Witcher 3 for the summer, which left me with no time to work on Lykaon and right now, as I am studying again, I have a lot of work to do, which means that I only have little time for Lykaon - again.
I am still working on it and I will finish it as fast as I can, but it is still a "hobby" for me, so sometimes I am just lacking a bit of motivation, which is the case right now. I've been working with the Redkit for a year now, spending a lot of time in it and I just need a short break to do other things. Sometimes I just don't want to do most of the Lykaon stuff all by myself :D
What is missing is basically the last 1/4 of the main quest, the finale and a bunch of side quests in a new area full of monsters you did not see in The Witcher 2.

But there's still some work going on. I will start recording my two main voice actors for Geralt and Dandelion in the following days, which is also a lot of work.
After christmas I will probably start my final spurt to finish Lykaon!

As a small consolation for you guys, I prepared a screenshot that depicts an interesting fight (and yes, it works. I am actually fighting it):

It basically works like that:
You take one of the existing monsters in The Witcher 2 (in this example: The Drowner) and most importantly its skeleton. Then you use a program like 3DsMax, open both the skeleton and the monster from The Witcher 1 you want (in this example: The Fleder) or another model. Now you have to match this monster to the skeleton, so that the game later knows that the bones of the arm belong to the arm of the monster.
Now back in Redkit you can take the monster whose skeleton you used and just replace the model with the other one. If you matched it nicely before, then it already works.

This is just very simplified and I am not doing it myself, I have great help there. It may sound easy, but matching the model to the skeleton is a lot of work. So of course I hope that we can have all the monsters from The Witcher 1 in the future, but it will take some time. I basically only created a list of Witcher 1 monsters and animals and counterparts from The Witcher 2 with a similar body type and he does the rest. It's like magic! ;)

Sorry, I can't say anything about that. ;)

The Fleder burns when Geralt can lure it from its lair into daylight:

A fleder!! Great work :)

I had this idea sometime ago to create new monsters or import some from w1.

Unfortunately I only have experience in blender :(

It should also work in Blender, but since I am not doing it myself, I am lacking any experience in this regard.

While working on the lighting, I made some "extreme" pictures. Most of the time it looked like a game with too many "graphic enhancement" mods. Don't worry, I try to make the lighting as realistic as possible, but I thought that a few of the "over the top" pictures looked nice in their own way. :)

Graphic in Lykaon is better than graphic in The Witcher 3
