Thanks to Tekoppar for helping me getting the Mamune out of The Witcher 1 and into Redkit!

So, will this mod come out before TW3?

Does that cat only look like it's saddled because it's marked in the editor or something or is it actually so?

Anyways, a small hut, a fire... I'm gonna go with Rumpelstiltskin! :yes

I plan to release Lykaon within spring, but I can't give any exact information, since unfortunately I don't have a lot of free time to work on the mod right now.
Nope, it looks saddled because it is in fact saddled. This may be one hint at who is living there. ;)

@Benzenzimmern

I wish I was as experienced in 3d modelling and quest design as you are, Benzen.
The mod looks fantastic so far and I will definately play it when it is out.

Don't push yourself too hard, take your time and create something great.

Judging by his blog post he was not experienced at all, prior to working with REDKit - just a bit of fiddling with map editors and a small unfinished project in Skyrim. He's a major example for achieving something by just trying hard and putting dedication into it (oh, he's gonna love getting compliments like that :p). Or to put it differently: If you want to create something as good as this, just start making it right now! (But don't forget your cirious project because of it! ;) )

If TW3 comes with modding tools, you can bet on me modding the hell out of it.
But for now, I have to focus on my own creative vision.

...that almost sounded professional. Almost.

Haha, thanks for the compliment, but I have to admit that I don't really know a lot about modelling at all. I add some objects like grasses (which is more about the texture) or other small stuff, but for things like the Mamune I get help from Tekoppar, another modder. I basically just tell him what I want from W1 and he gives me an already working version, I just edit the textures. :)
But I actually tried some "sculpting" recently from a sketch I made of an existing Witcher 2 model. It is however still far from the quality I'd want for stuff I add to Lykaon:

And Aaden is very right, just try Redkit out. It can be a lot of fun!

Well, I don't expect TW3's mod tools to be very different from TW2 REDKit. So fiddling a bit with that in the meantime, if your schedule allows it, certainly will turn out helpful for your TW3 modding endeavors.

Thank you, I'll make myself familiar with REDKit then.

What do you use to create models themselves, REDkit or other tools like Blender?

Very nice!

I've been following this mod for a while, but haven't said much. It looks wonderful and I'm glad you keep us updated on your progress so frequently.

I would like to know how Tekoppar gets those models skinned and ready to be used in TW2, but everyone's entitled to their privacy, no? ;)

All I can tell is that in the foreseeable future, everyone with Redkit will be able to do it. :)

I use Blender to change some models, but I think Tekoppar uses 3DsMax.

That's great to hear. Up 'til now, I know it's been a problem with not being able to export the skeletons/rigs from REDkit so one can work with them in another 3D modeling program.

Anyway, the new content looks awesome! I really get the feeling that it's a living, breathing world just from the screens and videos you've posted.

It's good to hear that Blender is compatible.
