Nope, unless there is some odd abstract name for the mod I put in Lykaon but I don't see anything in the game menus except the stock game.

Hi MaceUK71,

if the workaround Red0og posted didn't work, then I have only one idea left what the problem could be. Do you have the Steam version of The Witcher 2? As far as I know there might be problems if you downloaded the 3.4 patch separately, since Steam downloads 3.4 on its own.

But just to be completely sure that there is not a small problem we haven't noticed I will recap every step you should take to play Lykaon.

Download patch 3.4 for The Witcher 2 (or the Redkit patch if you want to do mods yourself). Then go to MyDocuments\Witcher 2\ and create a folder called "UserContent".

Download Lykaon and unzip it. Copy the folder "Lykaon" into "User Content".

Now you should see Lykaon in your userContentManager. If you don't, you should still try out to start The Witcher 2 and click on "New Game" and there should be "UserContent" with Lykaon in it.

Maybe you already did all these things, but I just wanted to write it step by step again in case there might be one little problem that is causing all this.
If it still doesn't work you should maybe write TechSupport. I am really sorry that you can't play it, but unfortunately I can't help you any more with this problem since it seems to be a problem with Redkit itself and not the mod. And I am no expert in that. :/

I hope you can get it working!

This is the first video of Lykaon I ever made. It shows an early version of the level (not even a month after I started working on it) that contains some areas that are not existent anymore like the dwarven ruins in the lake.

This is a video about an older version of the dice poker quest in Lykaon. I always thought that there should be some "great reward" after defeating everyone in dice poker, so I came up with the SSDPL party (starting at 06.25min).
This is old footage, so a lot of the dialogue and even the level is changed, but the core of the quest remains the same.

I desaturized the lighting of the whole level and made a few tweaks here and there to get a slightly more "grim" yet still pleasant atmosphere.

My "harpy gorge" was too small for the real Witcher 2 combat, so I completely modified the whole area. It is more than twice as big now.

Thanks! Sorted it :) I had dropped the loose files into the User Content folder. So I have just created a Lykaon folder and put the files in there and it works now. Was only when I read 'folder called Lykaon' I realised what I had done.

Cheers

This video shows a completely new and another location which was completly modified.
You will also see some improved combat. Enemies have more place, they pursue you and they are more aggressive.
Another thing you might notice is the tweaked lighting. I am showing the "sunny weather" type in this video. The colours are more subtle and it looks more realistic now.
I will wait with the final balance for the mod until the new Full Combat Rebalance Mod by Flash came out and I can try it in Lykaon.

After optimizing some stuff, the level has almost double the fps now than the demo I released.

Thank you Tekoppar for a great new grass mesh. :)

Like I told you before, I still don't know a lot about optimization and I will do a tutorial as soon as I know more. It doesn't make a lot of sense right now, because quite frankly, maybe I am just talking shit and the tricks I use only work for my particular level. So please be patient. ;)

Lykaon Update 16.06
What happened since the Alpha Demo?

This video shows a recap of things I worked on since I released the playable demo:

  • Weather effects
  • Improved Lighting
  • Improved Framerate (10-15 more FPS)
  • New and completely revised areas
  • More quests and dialogue
  • Interiors
  • Overall more detailed landscape (new vegetation and ground assets by Tekoppar)
  • A more vivid community
  • Every herb in the level is collectable now
