I've seen several articles online regarding an apparent "major update" being released today. Apparently this has come from several Gamestop staff sharing an internal memo announcing it but I haven't found any official information about this. Does anyone know if this is true?

Not going by what I've read from moderators here.

There was to be another hotfix patch, which we have gotten (1.05). Then the devs were going to take a break for a week or so.

After that, we are to expect two "larger" patches in January and February.

That's it.

it's already released, 21st was a guestimate assuming they weren't going to release during the weekend, but they did.

Ah ok, I'm already on 1.05 so that's fine.

In the current state of the game waiting until january to release the next patch would be absolute bs.
I have at least 3 bugged missions atm and thats not the worst.

Some websites claim a mysterious 1.06 patch is coming soon.

Since 1.05 my game crashes whenever I fast travel to Cherry Blossom Market. Doesn't matter where I travel from - it always crashes there.

This is not a thread about technical issues with 1.05, just sayin'

I don't know. I think they just misunderstood the statement CDP did on twitter. About patches coming in the next seven days.
That would make it the 21st. But I think that post only refers to 1.04 and 1.05. but I would love to be wrong.

There would probably be some kind of an announcement if the 1.06 is planned.

You know, devs are human beings and they deserve their christmas holidays like we do. Even more so, considering the god-awful hours they have to put in.

For all the faults with the release of this game, CD Projekt red were very clear about this. There is a forum post and an official statement released describing how patches are to be released. One hotfix before the company takes holiday on the 21st, then one major patch in January and one in February. I do not see how any confusion could be made, only unscrupulous games websites that churn out articles with misleading headlines for views.

They said one more hotfix patch and then some time off... I can totally understand them needing a break right now. I wish they hadn't removed the console but left it in and helped people to use it even, to try to work-around the problems while they are taking time off. Hacks, they are making terribly ugly hacks to things that could have been left alone while bugs were addressed more, perhaps.

Definitely need time away from it...

They coded the game in 4 years. I hope we have a different experience in 3 months. Ofc they deserve a break.

Totally agree!
Doesnt change the fact that they removed console with the last updates, the state of the game is still bad (not just talking bs, i played 80+ hours) and the last update added more bugs and glitches.
Don't get why they removed the console and didn't test the update before releasing.

Breaks game, puts on out of office, Merry Christmas you filthy animals.

Don't get me wrong, this year has been horribly stressful for pretty much every one and we all need some down time, it's just horrible timing that this latest patch means I can't proceed

PR has killed the video star. The devs don't own this game anymore.

They were rushing to get out to the country for a week or two.

The update optimized alot of older pc builds, especially AMD cpu's with 6 cores or less. One of my friends saw a big FPS increase after 1.05

As to expecting a general fix to the game's design issues, unlikely till well into 2021/beyond..

And there Is another big problem with this updates.
They will take the nexts patchs to fix all the bugs and try to bring the game back to PSN, dont know how much time it will take.
And this will delay the patchs to try to put back the missing content (NPC A.I, better car driving, actually police chasing the player and not just teleporting, DLC's and other things)
Because right now CD Stock actions are melting.
And i actually dont know if the will be able to patch thing like A.I, NPC driver A.I and police chasing, because this things ARE NOT BUGS, this things are core mechanics implanted in the game because of the short deadlines and a the crunch pratice in CD RED.
(sorry for my bad english)

No major update before January as I understood it. And probably more mid to end of January.

The devs need a break and the devs deserve a break and christmas holidays.
