I wish more games had snow that had depth to it, not simple white "textures" painted over the landscape but actual snow with depth.

The snow in Uncharted 2 was amazing because of this, as well as the snow in AC III.
See these two videos:

That kind of snow needs to be done in more games.

Snow doesn't accumulate on the ground/ trees/foliage, characters, models, anything, just as rain doesn't make puddles, streams running down the hills or raindrops dripping from roofs, branches and so on. Maybe next game in the series will be the first to not only have day/night cycle, but a true year cycle. :) Maybe technology in 5-6 years will be enough to handle game as big, that with current 1:4 timescale we would actually go through all the seasons in game and have not only dynamic weather, but dynamic landscape changing accordingly to weather conditions, tied to effects of rain, snow, heat, displaying dying grass and fallen leaves gathering on the ground at autumn...

hmm.... on second thought - maybe in 10-15 years . :D

Seasons have been done in games before.

ASheron's Call for example (which was an mmorpg) did seasons and that was back in the late 90's. I remember playing it, logging into the game one morning to see a once bright-green town I was in earlier just starting to get snow falling down with a light dusting on the ground. I logged in again later that night with tiihe snow coming down much harder and it was laying thick on the ground/buildings/trees.

Given that realtime beard growth is possible, I'm sure snow accumulation on such a huge dynamic scale would be possible in the distant future. And tbh, knowing CDPR's attention to detail and obsession with cool ideas n shit, they'd probably want snow accum/dynamic seasons to be as cool/perfect as possible. I think, for now, it's unfeasible for the Witcher 3 or even the next few games they make, but I wouldn't put it past one of the designers int he future to go "WOULDN'T IT BE COOL IF--" and we end up with an insane seasonal simulator and the AI responses to such weather.
