Malorian Arms 3516 is disappointing damage for the most iconic gun in the game...

+
Was looking forward to getting this after using it in Johnny's flashbacks, coolest reload animation ever and it hit like a truck in the flashbacks but damn it's a wet noodle when we actually get it ourselves, no cool perk's like every other iconic has, no crit chance, no crit dmg or burn chance, just crappy damage that a purple Overture I have from 10 levels back easily beats, it's the most iconic weapon in the game yet it's totally meh damage wise.

I hope this badboy gets some luvin if we ever get a balance pass, till then it's in my stash.

I too was very disappointed with this gun. The gun Kerry gives you (Archangel) later is better by a mile. I just chucked johnny's gun in the stash and forgot about it. I can craft a normal legendary pistol that has better base damage than the Malorian.

Yeah it was a literal underwhelming given how in the flashbacks with Johnny you are blowing people away with it. Having said that I still carried it to the end of the game, though by the time I got the gun I was essentially at the end of the game.

I like to think that Johnny has a specific build which enables him to blow enemies apart like that! Sadly - without proper means to reskill testing stuff is kinda hard at the moment... :censored:

Go to ripper doc and look in their Trade section. Buy the Tabula e-Rasa and use it. resets all your perk points. Costs 100k to buy

haha, this ISN'T meant to be played through in one go.. people are complaining about oh we want refund or bla bla, the WHOLE point is to enjoy , explore, and go DAMNIT, this oppurtunity cost, sure, it's a lot of time, but isn't that what we WANTED after 8 bloody years of expectations. I mean, imagine waiting 8 years for that OH SO SWEET JUICEDRINKING from one's FAVOURITE CHOOM.. oh dear lord, it would have to be some golden privates right there.. still.. gonna reveal a secret here from real life.. the first time... almost always is way, way worse than what one expected/imagined.. precisely because of the expecations. the 100 times after though.. golden! ,)

Yeah I figured as much. I also like to think of it as Johnny's overinflated ego misremembering his actions there as more gung ho and heroic than they actually were, it being a difficult drawn out struggle but him seeing it in retrospect as him storming into Arasaka tower and blowing everyone away.

Hah! Yeah, that's a great way of seeing it. I'll steal it ;)

Lol. Johnny retelling the story like, "so anyway, I started blasting..."

Itemization in the game is a hot mess on fire in a trailer park full of blazing dumpsters. Quality levels are meaningless, it's just complete RNG. And it turns out even the placed, static "Legendary" items are randomly generated when you loot them... so you could get a sh!t version or a good one or meh. You can test this yourself, look up the location of one of them, get sorta near the area, save scum and see. Different variant every time.

Alternatively, you can keep reloading your save until you find a great roll.

it is pretty ok for me but i also have put many points in handguns and have upgraded it a few times
i still overall agree with the point though and tbh ive put way to much resources into it for it to be a practical choice in any build

I got the thing at lvl 47 and could only upgrade it once before it capped. the gun is still crap for the single most iconic item in the game.

....I really don't know what you guys are all smoking. This is the best gun in the game and I didn't touch another gun besides Overwatch once I had it. I played through the supposedly ultra hard secret ending with it and it was a cakewalk.

I found the damage underwhelming, but then I've only played as melee specialised with some odd points in assault so far so not really maximising pistol damage by any means. Agree though that iconics should generally feel special to use, and that the RNG of reloading save files to find a decent version of a static legendary isn't exactly engaging core gameplay..

Okay are you sure it doesn't have Burn Damage? Because I believe I was doing burn damage with it. I also seem to light anyone that comes near me on fire with the CQC attack.
