Map pointers for sidequests..

..are there any?

And good day, to all of you. I bought Witcher 2 a year ago or so, but it did not run well enough on my rig, and did not support my monitor's resolution, so I put the game on hold.

Well with this new PC, it runs good, and resolution-problem is fixed, yeah! This week I started the game, learned new (and quite hard at first) combat system and stuff and fell in love with the game. It's beautiful as well as interesting PC-RPG with lots of things to do and learn. And women to f**k.

But a couple of notes; game lacks map pointers, or some kind of help-system, for side-quests. Or I just did not find any. Are these coming to that Enhanced Edition, which I guess is free to all game owner's to download(?). One other thing: minimap does not have indicator what way is north. Not happy about that either. Are they (you) going to fix those little things? Otherwise, the game is really really good, even though I did not very much like that first big monster, or boss, Kayran, it was annoyingly hard for me to beat .. but anyway.

Check the Witcher Nexus site to install a mod that gives you northbound pointer. There are small yellow arrows on the minimap pointing you in the general direction of most quests. If they aren't there, this was a deliberate choice by the devs. So consult the journal often.

The Enhanced Edition is indeed going to be a free patch for PC players

As for the map pointers, some side-quests have them and some don't. If you select a side quest in the journal as the active quest and there's still no map marker then it simply doesn't have one. That's mainly for the quests where you are meant to find things on your own (like clearing out the nekker nests or endrega queens) but there are a few other side quests where you're supposed to investigate something on your own as well.
