I dont understand this about Velen, didnt Djikstra and Geralt talked about Ciri that she is in Velen? Doesnt that mean that you can Visit Velen? Furthermore if they brag so much about how big they made the world in game, doesnt that mean that there will be several big cities?
So Velen is another name for the area of North Eastern Temeria near Gors Velen. It's the proper name for what they have been calling No Man's Land. The question is whether or not the city is included in game or if its just the area to the north of Gors Velen. I don't think the city has been showed yet on any of the official map portions they have released. That's why I'm still not convinced its in game (50/50 chance). But it is included as part of Velen in the map above. So where before I was pretty sure it wasn't in game. I am now more hopeful it is the very south western tip of the main map.
The physical map from the Collectors Edition is not true to scale. Kaer Morhen and Skellige are further away. They just wanted to show the locations we will visit in the game on one map. Tretogor will not be in the game, so there is no need to include it on the physical CE map.
Not really, it is to the east of both Novigrad and Oxenfurt, as for Kaer Morhen, I think it will be a fast travel only region or that it will be in specific parts of the story, you can't go to it by galloping all the way through Redania and Kaedwen.
But it is safe to say that Tretogor is most likely a refugee camp at this point.
Yeah im pretty sure gors velen wont be in the game simply because it is far to the south.

This is curious, that a certain region is highlighted. What I'm imagining is that world is divided into these regions. You have an overview look that tells you in what part you are, and then you can zoom in and the map slowly changes to a more specific one of the actual terrain. I think that's cool. Not sure if it's the case.

It would be cool to have more than just the highlighted part but I don't think so. Vizima and Skellige (or at least one island) are also highlighted if you look closely.
So we have:
1) Novigrad with outskirts (the white part above the city icon)
2) Skellige
3) Vizima
4) NML aka the land between Novigrad and Gors Velen (probably incuding the city and hopefully Thanedd)
5) Kaer Morhen which you can't see because it's too far away.
6) Maybe more locations not in this part of the map like Dol Blathanna

I do think that maybe some mission(s) or flackbacks are going to take place in Vizima, but just in one building - castle or so - but not the whole city.. because Vizima is bigger than Novigrad, no? But Novigrad is the biggest city in the game, so I don't see a fully realized Vizima possible
I think that Novigrad is the biggest city in the northern kingsdoms.
Including the enitre city of Vizima like it was in TW1 but open "city" would be too much nostalgia. My mind couldn't handle that.

Personally , dont think so. Would love to see brokilon, Gors Velen, dol blathanna. But they are too far away abnd nothing has been hinted that those place would get visited. Like artworks , mentions etc.
The highlighte part are the ingame world. You can see that Wyzima and skellige are highlighted as well

Obviously Tretogor is further east, I think the highlighted areas in the second picture pretty much confirm Gors Velen will be in the south end of the map

Well, that's the big question. Gors Velen isn't shown on the Collectors Edition map but it's possible that it's in the south-west part of the map, which is not displayed. It's within the highlighted area on the first map, but a part of the symbol for he city is outside of it and we don't know if the highlighted area really means that we will nbe able to visit it or if it's just visible in the game. (maybe we can just see the outlines of the city)
I wish they would clarify it. So far it's a 50/50 chance for Gors Velen being in the game, imo.
