1. It's not really a leaked map. It's been out for ages.

2. It doesn't show the lands in between those areas because this is just an abstract representation of the areas available in the game. What you see here is what you'll get, more or less.

The stone towered bridge leading to Oxenfurt in this video reminds me Baldur's Gate bridge, does anyone remember the feeling we felt when we crossed for the first time this bridge ? "Whoah I'm finally going to the city !" It will be the same feeling with Oxenfurt/Novigrad, no doubt.

Novigrad in the 35 minute video is huge, on the map looks small, so in terms of scale that map is huge.

Playstation Access from one side of the map to the other. [SPOILERS OBVIOUSLY]

@Jinal posted another video in the news discussion forum about the map. So any credit should go to him but it is relevant to this thread I think so I quote him here.

i don't care about those points :) but thanks.

After watching this video, i was really fascinated again. i am actually planning not to use the fast-travel at all - or only if i have to... just because it looks so good.

I actually stopped watching right after they left the map view. I was really proud of myself.

They didn't go directly, or at full speed. Nor did they go *all* the way from one side to the other.

They were "sort of" moving all the time though, and took around 30 minutes to cover the ground.

From "Near Bald Mountain", via Fyke Island, Crow's Perch, Oxenfurt, and Novigrad. Mix of Boat, and horse, mostly on horse. Relatively little at a full gallop.

sounds more like they were covering all the ground than a point to point run. But, still sounds great :)

The actual distance travelled... roughly 80% more than "direct", but not all of it was diversions. The "direct" route isn't straight.

In the real world I usually reckon on 60% for travel time (i.e. estimate for distance km, use speed in miles per hour on this numerical value), and around 20-25% for distance, except in very obviously "straight" runs (e.g. along a Roman Road, or with very winding routes). This for Cycling... for walking both around +25% of the 'direct' route.

My only concern with the map layout, is if riding the horse proves to be more of a hindrance for longer journeys.ie, making diversions to cross rivers via bridges and the like, instead of just gunning it with geralt and swimming across rivers.
I loved red dead redemption, but man that trip from armadillo to the centre area of mexico was a killer.

There are 3 regions. Nomansland, White Orchard (prolog area) and Skellige Islands. There are also smaller instanced areas (like Kaer Morhen for example). Inside these regions there are NO loading screens. You can enter any building etc. without a loading screen. When you transition between the large areas or when you fast-travel you have a loading screen. Alltogether the map size is about 3.5 times the size of Skyrim and 1.5 times the size of GTA 5.

There are two big regions :Skellige+ Velen and Novigrad (Velen and Novigrad are one map and not seperated by a loading screen)
There are two medium sized regions (4-5 hours of gameplay) White Orchard+ Kaer Morhen
There are 3-5 small story-related regions: We only know the castle of Vizima being one of the regions.

I was wondering if anyone have actually seen or heard how the games deal with the edge of the maps yet? Are there invisible walls to stop you from going further or are there natural bounders or is it like DA:I where you get a horrible wind in you face that prevents you going further? Do anyone know now that the game has been leaked for over a week almost?

When you are close to getting to the border a message pops up that states that there are dragons ahead and you should better turn around. If you continue the world map opens and you can fast travle to another location.
