Mass Effect 5

Sounds good, even though it's best to not get our hopes up...
As long as there is no release date in sight anything can happen.

At least there is also a TV show. And if they really fell confident on it, there is even more reason for making another game and getting more and more money, in different midias.

That was probably always just wishful thinking though.

Well, even Siient Hill came back from the dead and there is even talk about Castlevania doing the same, so... There is always hope, I suppose?

Hope they don't botch that show like they did Halo's

I've read it's set after the trilogy. I like that, as it probably means they won't canonize any specific Shepard.
The earlier plans were set after the trilogy, so whatever the new plans turn out to be are also probably after the trilogy.

There's no way they could be crazy enough to canonize any specific Shepard (which means they'll probably do it??) but I don't see how they can keep from canonizing a specific ending, unless it's in a different galaxy. But they already tried that. Whichever button they choose to push, Red, Green, or Blue, will end up infuriating two-thirds of the fan base.

Well, not exactly.
According to Bioware's statistics, around a third of players chose Synthesis, around 17% chose Control and 45% chose Destroy.
So, if they go with Destroy, which is the most probable possibility both for show and Mass Effect 5, it would be closer to pissing off only half the fanbase.

I would be better to go with the refusal, at least Reaper are still there... :D
No sure why they would go after me3 ending. It would be kinda stupid, there is enough room between the end of ME1 and the start of ME3 to make a good story wihout pissing off anyone.
Anyway, no matter what they will do, I will most likely avoid the TV show if it's a live action. Live action just doesn't work for me :)

To be honest, I don't really care, as long as it follows some kind of internal, comprehensible logic. The so-called "fanbase" can't agree on the endings anyway and is basically dissatisfied with all three. On top of that, the series also has to appeal to potential viewers who aren't stuck in the gaming bubble.

I find the approach of somehow having to do justice to the players in the context of a series to be very one-sided and limiting.

If it achieves the quality of The Expanse, that would be a big step forward.

They could have made a good anime with ME
