You are not wrong, I wholefully agree with you. But I have the sense sometimes that some people (male mostly) are man-scared, like they feel threatened by another man (no matter if virtual) or simply hate comparison. While Women commonly don't mind it at all.

Just my 2 cents

Hmmm................ I certainly do not. Hell, I stand on a stage in front of a large audience at a body-buidling show in my underwear. I mean I will never be a porn-star because I am not "that" secure but I am not scared to be judged to other men, by women or men. Ultimately I only care what a few people think of me as a person overall. That would include my Mother ,girlfriend(if I have one at that moment) and my 4 really close friends. Otherwise I could care less how other people view me. I know who I am and my worth.

and let me tell you "all" women do in fact mind being compared to another women. If not why do women always get pissed when "Super models" get the men in an up roar( not me I think they need more meat on them bones) and the average woman complains that it is not fair that super models are born as such. Lets put it this way.... What if your current boyfriend had a certain Ex girl friend that he still was friends with ? Would you like it if he was hanging out with her or if he complimented her and not you. Damn skippy it would bother you.......Women are the most jealous creatures on this planet, period.

If men are 'man-scared', women are 'fem-jealous'.

Personally, i have mixed feelings about sex in witcher games, i think it should be toned down, and devs should focus more on gameplay aspect which is far from perfect... I know, i know "mature games for mature gamers such as myself".

I have no issues with the use of nudity to promote the game. After all, it's part of the package.

Remove that and you've still got a strong concept because of the political, dark, mature, violent, gritty, and filthy content that is so rare in RPGs today - but it still adds that extra something to the whole feel of it. Like the sexual themes of Game of Thrones. After all, sex was a major part of the lives of the people in the medieval times that franchises like GoT and Witcher mimics.

People who deny this, in my tremendously humble opinion, are either in denial of its importance within the game until the day it's actually gone, at which point they'd miss it terribly - or, but more rarely so, sitting on too high a horse for their own good, in trying to deny human sexuality the important (and jolly fun) place it has in our lives. We like nudity, and there's nothing wrong with that what-so-ever. Nothing. Niet. Niente. Zip. Zero. Nil.

mmmm, nothing to add. )

I'm lying,
We like nudity of both genders, and there's nothing wrong with that what-so-ever. Nothing. Niet. Niente. Zip. Zero. Nil.

Good point. I'm not against male nudity in the games, by the way. I sort of assumed that was implied already - sorry!

While reading such a threads, I cannot shake off the feeling that women are scheming to destroy yet another good game. So it is difficult to contain the urge to lash out ;)

But did you ever wonder where this behaviour comes from?

Girls are taught looks are what matters. Boys, so much. All your life you are compared to other women; look at that actress, look at that pop star, that model has a perfect body, perfect skin, if you are less than that, you are worthless. They teach you looks are what should define you, that you should take two hours out of your day doing your make-up, picking your clothes, doing your hair. It is beyond irritating to be CONSTANTLY compared to this social construct of a "perfect" woman, of what you 'should' be. As if we were all made to fit the same mold.

No wonder supermodels get them in uproar, they are perceived as threat because you know you will never, ever, in a million years look like that. And if you're 'ugly', or have extra fat, or somehow don't fit this constructed image, you are marked as failure. In your own head. Because you were taught that's how it is, that you may as well quit if your body doesn't look a certain way, and it's incredibly hard to break out of something that's been so internalised. To tell your parents, your friends you love so much: no, you're wrong. All of these things you told me while I trusted you, they are wrong. Why do you think eating disorders are so widespread amongst young girls? Would you blame them for hating these idolised models that made them put their life on the line?

All I'm saying is, think a little before calling women pissy and jealous. Everything has a reason.

Oh! I didn't see that post... Of course we are jealous creatures, but just what about men (I apologize right now for all are not like this...), why disturb you to see a penis? OOOOHH! YES! EUREKA! you don't like comparisons!! And even more... you don't like that any image could make you suffer being CONSTANTLY compared with a better one and verify the fact.

I can't give you an upvote, because you're a moderator, but

Even women who have managed to reject the "you're fat even if you look like a walking clothes hanger" canard can end up forced into "competitive dressing" at the office, the gym, and social occasions. My sister found out very quickly that her job at a downtown office came with a requirement to get herself a "personal stylist" at Nordstrom's if she wanted not to be overlooked for advancement.

I don't know how women got forced into this; my understanding of women's history doesn't run to that. But it's so b***dy entrenched that, for many women, there's no fighting it.

(The Lasagna Queen told me that I'd better want her without makeup, because that was the only way I could have her. That was going on 28 years ago, so I can say that some of us have fought back and won.)

It is not about comparisons. Woman' body is beautiful, while man's is ugly. So why put it into the game? But I, for one, would not mind it, as long as you will not insist on removing scantily clad women...

That is not the problem for me. But you see, men had to escape into never-never-land from independent, strong women. But is seems, the is no respite even there, even in the never-never-land women are haunting us with all this talk about sexism and objectifaction.
If it was a R.E. Howard's Conan RPG, would you also want strong female characters? Sure you would.

There were strong female characters in Conan, read Queen of the Black Coast, for just one example. To be honest I think all our sisters are asking for is Geralt to show a bit more scar tissue, nothing blatant but something like when he's curled up breeche's-less on the bed of the whore house next to a strumpet.
