For me problem is that I have downloaded previous version of the patch incomplete. I'm on the limited expensive internet and now I should redownload whole patch again (for me it's impossible). Anybody can help me with getting patch files that was before 20th of April. It seems that I already paid for downloads more than the game costs. :(

why isn't anyone reading the post I kept updating here: http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/29103-md5-and-sha1-checksums-for-tw2ee/page__p__806049#entry806049 ? Why would anyone DELETE 14-45gb of files for JUST A FAILING FILE? the post has all the info one needs to track the bad files and replace THEM FFS use that info already! GO!

Is it possible that on some servers they forgot to change part 2 and 24? All other parts are allways ok but for those 2 I always get the checksum of the older version of those 2 files. The last hour I downloaded them 10 more times and always the same checksum. Is there another link to the newer versions?

Hi hi. I have downloaded about 6Gb from previous version and about 3Gb from new version uploaded today. All files are ok according to checksums. So maybe you will understand my anger 3Gb is "slightly" less than 6Gb. Still I can not install. :(

When did you download the "previous" version? Any attempt to mix any files from a download you made before 19 April 16:15 UTC and a download you made after that time is never going to succeed.

I know. Why they could not leave both versions on their site if as they said there is no difference only packaging? For me traffic is the main problem.

Because some luser would assume that "no difference, only packaging" meant he could get the files from either place, mix them, throw in some files he torrented when some of them didn't download, and then gripe about why they didn't work.

It's good practice to have only one set of downloadable files available at any time. But you can't be changing them out one by one while they're exposed for downloading, which happened yesterday.

I also had trouble with packs 2 and 24. I tried to download them manually multiple times with different browsers, all failed. I then decided to delete them from the directory and ran the downloader again, which downloaded only the missing files (now 2 and 24). After that the checksums matched and I managed to patch with no problems. Hopefully that helps for others too.

Thanks so much for all the fans out there trying to figure this out and for CDPR for finally releasing the checksum list. I already managed to download the whole set 3 times and must say it did get rather frustrating. On the other hand I just accepted the fact that I'll have to wait bit longer, knowing it will be fixed sooner or later. Afterall this is all "bonus", which is why I really love you CDPR so far it seems you really care for your fans which seems rare this day and age.

But I can not make sense why to change the files after 4 days after release. I think it does not improve download speed. Only creates mess. Because you only can distinguish the files by their MD5 or SHA1 checksum. And for normal user it's not clear.

I've had part 2 and 24 fail checksum verification over and over using manual download.
So i thought, maybe the auto downloader would work. So i deleted part 2 and 24 from the download folder. The downloader had no trouble figuring out it was missing those two files and started to download.

Once done it started to install.......it worked! No more corrupt files. I had corrupt files using manual download.

Cheers to everyone for the sanity check on those mismatching checksums. As said above if parts 2 and 24 are giving you trouble delete/move/rename them and let the Auto downloader sort it out.

Thanks again

Talk about a stuffup. And the devs cant even keep the checksums right so thats spreading even more confusion, as they changed the files. This is an unwanted hassle.

So I downloaded my so called corrupt file again, and it says its still corrupt.....

What is the auto downloader and how do I run it? The usual witcher 2 launcher wont run on my install anymore.

The big update button on http://en.thewitcher.com/enhancededition/ will get you the auto-downloader i used and i hope it helps.

To anyone more intrested than me in diagnosing this (i'm off to replay witcher 2), I think it might be dodgy links on what i presume is the uk mirror of the manual update site if others agree

The developers need to take down the auto-downloader, it seems to be great at downloading corrupted files, which is causing alot of headaches for quite a few people. Redownloading the corrupted files via the auto-downloader won't work because it will download the corrupted files again.

The corrupted files I have encountered with the auto-downloader are:

TW2EE_Patch-7.bin, TW2EE_Patch-21.bin, TW2EE_Patch-26.bin, and TW2EE_Patch-29.bin

Grab these files from the manual link, place them in the folder where the auto-downloader put them and you are free to install the EE patch.

I propose that in the future, the patch exe file does a basic check if all the archives are the right ones via a md5 check, and if it isn't download the right files from an alternative download location.
Furthermore I would like the patcher to state which archive file it is currently going through.

You'd think they'd simply take the verification software from there sister site GoG. I'm just gonna download it from GoG as the game as a whole with the patch pre-applied is only 4~GB bigger then the patch alone.

I have rechecked the files from the /ee_manual/ location. Here's what I found:

1. They were updated, between 8:30 and 9:15 Pacific time (15:30 to 16:15 UTC) today. All of the files from TW2EE_Patch.exe and TW2EE_Patch-1.bin through TW2EE_Patch-35.bin were updated. Any checksums taken before that time will fail to match. Any downloads that were made during that time will be partly wrong.

2. The files that are at /ee_manual/ now, or at least as of an hour ago, are a usable and consistent patch set. If you install from them, you will get a successful patch with no errors. I used them to patch a pristine installation of TW2 2.0 (GOG edition) without errors.

3. The set of MD5 checksums below is the checksums of these known good files, as of 2:00 PM Pacific time (21:00 UTC) today.

4. (UPDATE) I also verified the files delivered by the Downloader. They now match the manually downloaded files. If you have pre-downloaded files, or files from an earlier run of the Downloader, you will probably have to throw them out and start over.

This applies only to the files TW2EE_Patch.exe and TW2EE_Patch-1.bin through TW2EE_Patch-35.bin. The "Voiceover" files have not changed, and you shouldn't have to re-download them.

It is important to note Vinthir's caution given earlier: the set of files may be changed at any time, and this will cause correct files to fail to match these checksums. So don't take checksum mismatches as an automatic indication that your files are wrong.

Thanku much! I can confirm that the way you posted did help :) I've deleted all TW2EE_Patch-XX.bin files and started Downloader.exe again. This time all 35 downloaded files had correct checksums (matched with the ones from your list) so finally game patching went without any errors

Yeah..have to say after spending COUNTLESS hours to try and get this to work via the Auto Downloader...checking MD5 sums etc...tried the method of seeing what bin files produce errors by "moving" them to another folder etc...it is just a total waste of time. I'm gonna have to go this route as well...after wasting...well at least 12+GB of download!...I'd have to say this was an absolute train wreck. CDP thanks for the awesome update! no issue with that... but the delivery method was just awful.

The checksum MD5 for the downloaded file 22nd April: cce83e4c9750a7cea4171a6a2c4ec921 TW2EE_Patch-13.bin

The 20th April from Vinthir: fed6e2e10fc599b2853a4e314ee29686 TW2EE_Patch-13.bin

So, I have no idea of what to do with this. I have checked all the downloaded checksums and they are ok, except for the voice part which I assume hopefully has no problem.
