ME3...who's gonna get it?

Mentioning Bioware in these parts is like taking a leak in the holy water font. But I'm gonna be honest: ME1 was the game that got me back into gaming in my late 20's. It was the game that made me an RPG fan. I've got one hell of a lot of nostalgia invested in this series, despite the missteps of ME2. So yes, I'm excited for ME3. I can find it I think, beneath all the marketing tie-ins, celebrity cameos, DLC...it's there somewhere, the heart of a good game.

Pre-Ordered the Collector Edition at a retailer here. I sure as hell am waiting for it.

the art looks terrible. it just got worse and less inspired as the series grew.

as for "good game". well if you can't find it beneath all the superfluous junk, it's likely not there anymore.

I have it preordered. The game itself is a step in the wrong direction, I know that. Restrictive DRM, multiplayer (in an RPG?!), total abuse of DLC (day one characters, anyone?)...the list goes on. From what I heard from professional reviewers who have analyzed the leaked information, the story and characters are taking a nose dive as well. Unfortunately, I am in the same boat as you Slimgrin. The series holds a special place for me, and for that I do want to see it through. After that, Bioware is dead to me .

I would be up for some Co-op with some of you, well have to make a thread about it when the game comes out .

Totally "meh" about ME3.

ME1 was something special, the sci-fi setting, graphics, combat, story.

I remember ME2 as a decent third person shooter.

I will probably buy ME3 when the price drops, but hold no excitement about it at all. It became too artificial for me, the dialogues, relations between characters, it doesn't feel natural and I can't immerse myself in this game as much as I would like to.

Dont forget action mode.. I am buying it, I have enjoyed the games despite their flaws. Well loved the first one, story rather lacking in the second, remains to be seen what 3 will be like

Im also big mass effect 1 fan but because of origin i canceled my preorder. I refuse to buy and play a game with some malware intrusive drm, gonna watch play-through on youtube for story though.

I haven't even played the many DLCs for ME2 yet.

So not anytime soon. Risen 2 is the only game I'm looking forward to this spring.

Nah dont worry. those DLC only look good on trailers. they are pretty short and not really worth the money oh maybe except the shadow broker dlc. rest is pretty useless and doesn't give you any new info or reveal anything you wouldn't know or figure it out on your own.

I absolutely loved ME1 and played it through at least 5 times, complete with everything, that is. ME2 was good for only one go, the second time around it already bored me. Everything i've seen of ME3 indicates that this is only going to be worse with the final part of the trilogy.

Same here, I actually became frustrated from seeing all the DLCs. :D

I loved ME1, but quickly lost interest in ME2 because its beginning kind of shocked me and I didn't really like the gameplay changes. The Illusive Man looked cool though, Joker was still there and I laughed a lot at the Citadel ads, so someday I'm going to finish it for sure. :)

ME3? Totally meh about it atm, but I want to see Shepard's story through, so I'll buy it when the price drops.

I'm going to play it on someone else's Xbox so that the inevitable disappointment and shame won't be my own. Giving Bioware money is simply out of the question. Even if we collide with some parallel reality where ME3 is the greatest game ever made, it's at most a game to pick up used somewhere.

Never on PC, though. I love my computer like a child and installing Origin would be like throwing said child into the arms of seedy-looking strangers for a few hours. Maybe nothing bad would come of it, but then again, they were hovering over a body with a knife in hand. Oh, EA, you and your shenanigans.

Is... is that bad?

Okay, that explains Christmas Mass. It's not my fault that holy water fonts look like fancy urinals, though.

I have it preordered. I don't like Origin though, I have to use it with bf3 too, and it is just a piece of useless shit.

I think the Day 1 dlc is just there to make people buy the game new or buy a online pass on consoles. What I don't like about ME2 (and 3 probably) is the fact that the graphics are so bad compared to other new games. Even when comparing it to, for example, Assassins Creed Revelations (which is also a lame console port). It just has these incredibly bad textures everywhere. That is why I think games should be made for PC, then ported (or adapted?) to consoles. If TW2 does this the right, perhaps more devs will follow this example :)

I want to finish the trilogy as well...so yeah, after the price drops I´ll probably buy it. But to be honest, I really dont care that much about series anymore. Latest videos dont make me excited at all. First ME was special to me. Very immersive universe and story. Second had that cheap comic book feel. And I really dont like comic books. Not this action type at least. Not to mention lack of plot and a lot of filler. There are so many things in ME 2 that dissapointed me, listing them would take a really long post. ME 3 looks like it will correct many of them, but it shows that original writers (Karpyshyn and L'Etoile) that shaped the universe werent working on it.

tl;dr ME 1 had that "magic" I look for in games. Second one didn´t. Will see if third one will have it again.
