I hope that people leaving means that the game is near to completion (=beta starting soon). Can't wait for E3 to get some new info. 5 months, though :'(
i dont think its close, i actually think itll be behind now, and thats why they only keep saying "when its ready" i doubt itll be anytime soon

I don't believe in the game being released before february 2020, but if they're not even in alpha now, then it's a bad news and all these people leaving...

Has the game not been in alpha since September? Then again, it is possible that there are some unforeseen problems that cause delays.

yeah problems being main staff are switching to other companies... And we hear nothing from them lol... i was really hyped for this but i think ill cut my losses

What do you want them to say? It's a staff shake-up. Happens all the time in this industry, no matter what stage a game's development is in. I'm not saying you should be hyped, but if you were, this should have no impact on that.

CD Projekt RED Confirms Over 400 Developers Are Working on Cyberpunk 2077

Number increased from the 250 for TW3
https://wccftech.com/cd-projekt-red-over-400-cyberpunk-2077/

Quite an impressive number if compared to "normal" AAA teams, more or less to the same order of teams as naughty dogs or santa monica's main team (god of war 2018).

Unluckily we are very far from Assassin's creed teams (over 1000 people, which is surprising when you realize those games offer little more than nice graphics) or the 3000 people (7x CP2077) who worked on rockstar's masterpiece RDR2 (and you can see it in every inch of that game).

EDIT: ok, those numbers can't be that reliable since I realized that 1500 people worked in total on TW3, so I don't know how that relate to rockstar and ubisoft. Cory balrog said his team peaked 300 people for GOW, this number makes probably more sense for comparison (not an open-world game, less people needed of course) https://wccftech.com/god-of-war-never-compete-open-world/

Man, I would kill for a Cyberpunk game with the detail of RDR2. I know others would kill not to have that game, but boy did I love RDR2. I know @Rawls did, too.

Regardless, thanks for the info!

I realized my post was not consistent with data, so I edited it. Just to warn you.

RDR2 is the most detailed game ever and my favorite game so far for several reasons. The game is so detailed and graphically advanced (even on standard ps4 is glorious) that looks next-gen.

There is a difference between the size of the permanent team employed at the company, and the total number of people who worked in some way on a game, which includes outsourced work, voice actors, beta testers, etc. Also, it is often not easy to estimate how much effort was required to make games just by looking at them.

Smaller teams can sometimes be better. The focus and goals remain clearer throughout the team, and there are fewer faceless "codemonkeys" who only work for salary and are extremely distant from the top people and their initial vision. Even 400 sounds like an army.

It would appear we're getting closer to Cyberpunk in the REAL WORLD.
