As it turns out, I already have an account on here (due to GOG I guess), but this is my first post.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was my first game to play from this franchise. I love this game. I beat it a few days ago. After the credits rolled, I spawned into Kaer Morhen, with the message popping up, casually ignoring the whole "set back before the final mission and all main missions are disabled" prompt. I remember saying to myself and questioning where Ciri and Yen were. The whole castle felt cold and empty. Nobody. I ran upstairs. Nobody. All of the main characters, gone. All the main characters that you develop these attachments to throughout the course of the game, gone. I spent a good 225 (probably due to me leaving my PS4 in rest mode, so it'd probably be around ~115 maybe?) hours taking the game slowly to explore it and do side quests and ride my boat through that nice water. But after the realization hit me, and these people were gone, It does make the world feel shallow and empty and I felt that even before I discovered this thread where people are feeling the same way.
I usually never post in forums, but honestly spawning into an empty Kaer Morhen, with zero sign of Ciri, Yen, and/or Triss, after having been with them through the entire story and loving these greatly developed characters, made me pretty sad. I got the ending I wanted and I was pleased with it. But now I have zero urge to continue playing for the time being and even buying the expansion pass.
The world of The Witcher 3 is great, massive, deep, "MORE DRAMATIC WORDS". I could explore it for hours. But the characters shape the game, and without them, it just doesn't feel right to me.
I truly think that CDPR is a great company who will listen and attempt to do something in time.
I'm also surprised I wasn't the only one who felt this way.
