The fact that they are communicating with me about this and even bugs i have reported (they asked me to send them my game save so the devs can investigate)
gives me some hope at least, most other devs on other games i contacted in the past usually just send, thanks for your message, and i never hear from them again lol

Some full-scale Kübler-Ross going on in this thread. I'm betting CDPR just wished they'd put in a black screen with 'Fin' written on it right-about-now. Still, it's probably not a big deal to put Geralt's comrades-in-arms back in and give them a generic line of dialogue each - you can still talk to Keira Metz in Kaer Morhen for example, although probably unintentionally as you can still ask her what she's doing hiding out in the woods in Velen!

Does anyone know if the main characters like yen, triss, and ciri will be back at the end of the game for a dlc or something?

Is rage really the right word? Feels more like disappointment that the ride had to end at some point.

I wholeheartedly agree. The same thing happened with Mass Effect 3. The ending was epic, but the impact of the player's choices weren't shown, and it caused an uproar, so much so that they finally released a Final Cut that fixed it. I just finished the Witcher 3 a few minutes ago and I have to say I felt let down. After the happy ending and the end world state I was pushing for all game long (I did almost 100% of the content) I couldn't enjoy it with Triss or even see a 2 minute cinematic showing Geralt with her or seeing Roche put up the Temerian flag again. The characters I grew to love were gone, and I quickly hopped online to see if they were hiding somewhere, only to tragically learn they weren't. Please please please CD Projeckt Red you've made the best game of all time please take a little time to show us the outcome of our hard work!!!

hey there, and thanks for taking the time to create a account and post.

one of the points i was trying to point out when i contacted CDPR was that it seams that once people finish the game, they end up here on the forum, voicing there disappointment with them taking the characters out of the game. thats even how i ended up here,

so i encourage any guest viewers that come here and feel the same to create a account and voice their opinions, it will help us show them how big of a issue this is for a lot of people who have beat the game and hopefully help get CDPR's attention.

ok i just wanted to share this with every one, i have been in contact with CDPR and i have been getting responses from them, below is the last message i recieved
and i have sent them the links to this thread and the polls, so hang in there guys i really believe they are trying there best to help us.

Greetings,

I'm very sorry you feel this way. Could you link the thread with the poll that you mentioned? Also, stay tuned for the coming DLCs!

At the same time thank you very much for your kind words about the game and for being so invested in it :).

Don't forget to send my thread's url as well hehe.
Well, a quick update on this situation from time to time from CDPR would be much appreciated.

Without a words from the devs, well.. people are getting disappointed and frustrated. People used to post great ideas and suggestion, but now they it's clearly written "disappointed" all over their comments.

I will put these here, so the devs can see them :
http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/50128-Empty-Kaer-Morhen-after-all
http://forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/49659-Gameplay-after-main-story

A lot of people (me included) felt that they HAVE to register on the forums to voice their complaints. This is a major issue for the replayability of the game. That makes us not care about dlcs that do not concern the ending.

The last part of the game(lack of explanation, closure and important characters) is an immersion destroyer!

Thanks for pointing those out to me and i just sent them, im new here but trying to help as much as i can, i can see it in peoples post too their patience is running thin and i also point out in the email that they could calm things down a bit if they would just tell us something, this is a 84 page thread and is the 3rd most viewed topic in this section and the 2 above it also are about triss/yen content

even your polls have similar results as this one. how much more proof do they need lol plus ive been searching around and other forums and sites people are saying the same.

As it turns out, I already have an account on here (due to GOG I guess), but this is my first post.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was my first game to play from this franchise. I love this game. I beat it a few days ago. After the credits rolled, I spawned into Kaer Morhen, with the message popping up, casually ignoring the whole "set back before the final mission and all main missions are disabled" prompt. I remember saying to myself and questioning where Ciri and Yen were. The whole castle felt cold and empty. Nobody. I ran upstairs. Nobody. All of the main characters, gone. All the main characters that you develop these attachments to throughout the course of the game, gone. I spent a good 225 (probably due to me leaving my PS4 in rest mode, so it'd probably be around ~115 maybe?) hours taking the game slowly to explore it and do side quests and ride my boat through that nice water. But after the realization hit me, and these people were gone, It does make the world feel shallow and empty and I felt that even before I discovered this thread where people are feeling the same way.

I usually never post in forums, but honestly spawning into an empty Kaer Morhen, with zero sign of Ciri, Yen, and/or Triss, after having been with them through the entire story and loving these greatly developed characters, made me pretty sad. I got the ending I wanted and I was pleased with it. But now I have zero urge to continue playing for the time being and even buying the expansion pass.

The world of The Witcher 3 is great, massive, deep, "MORE DRAMATIC WORDS". I could explore it for hours. But the characters shape the game, and without them, it just doesn't feel right to me.

I truly think that CDPR is a great company who will listen and attempt to do something in time.

I'm also surprised I wasn't the only one who felt this way.

Well, it's rather sounds like "We have no idea what you talking bout, but if you want more - wait for the dlcs. But thanks for asking!"
Not really reassuring, if you asked me...

Im another one in the group that feel like its a pretty big oversight...

I'd be fine if they had just stopped the game where it was (but then the level scaling and balance NEEDS to be rethought else there is absolutely no incentive to explore everything in the game).
But as they went with the approach of being able to continue playing, instead it badly needs to have the characters spawn in (where appropriate), Ideally they ought to have at least a little new dialogue as a result of 'finishing the game' doesn't need to be a lot, maybe a couple of topics, and perhaps with one or two of them a quest, and perhaps with one or two others, the option to ask them to follow you.

My thoughts on each of them:
Ciri - Either in Kaer Morhen (if she became a witcher) or a different location if she becomes Empress (not sure on different location to be fair). If she became a witcher, have her be a random encounter in the world that can provide a high level monster contract quest.
Triss - should either stay at Kaer Morhen or be in her original appartment (now cleaned up) in Novigrad if you romanced her, which one would depend on if Radovid remains King. If you dont romance her, she leaves the game (goes to Kovir)
Yen - should have a little cottage somewhere out in the wilds if you romanced her, if you didn't romance her, i'd have her either with Ciri (if Ciri became Empress) or gone from the game (if Ciri died/became a witcher)
Lambert - no longer in game, he left with Keira
Keira - as above
Esckel - maybe still in the game, found randomly fighting monsters, give him a bit of diaglogue, ideal choice for a post endgame monster contract quest with a high level requirement.
Dandilion - At the Chameleon
Zoltan - Atthe Chameleon
Roche/Ves - move to Vizima if still alive and Radovid is slain, same goes for Thaler.
Letho - if he's alive, he should be at Kaer Morhen. Another obvious option for a high level contract.

Have it so that Eskel and Ciri are only able to follow you if you get a quest from them. Yen/Triss will follow you if you ask, perhaps give them the odd comments about places as you travel.

The upcoming expansions NEED to be fairly high level and aimed at post ending, else they're going to end up pretty unappealing for most players as is clear from the poll and this thread.

It would indeed be a blunder if these ideas for a post completion game play environment are ignored.

There is $$ in it for CD Projekt RED and some serious long term game play for players in the years to come. I know this world kicks the a** of any other game I've immersed myself in. For example, the free roam, combat system, and overall NPC interaction doesn't even compare in Skyrim... this... The Witcher 3... is an entirely different experience.

Why let it go to waste over some development time to secure years of support and attention for the series and any other projects from CDPR?

I would place everyone at Dandelions Tavern, cause Novigrad is full of life in contrast to Kaer Morhen or Skellige.

The biggest immersion destroyer is not being able to kill the towns people and kids. Why can't I attack them? I even tried going full bombs alchemy and throwing tons of grapeshot but no one died.
