No, not a lie, just deceptive wording. Technically, you do have a huge open world, and a single player story driven RPG. It's just a pointless open world, mediocre story, and bad rpg hiding behind impressive production values and good actors / art / shooting.

The game also doesn't have micropay shit ala assassins creed... I shouldn't have to say I'm grateful for it, but its 2020, so I am.

One thing they could do right now is change the audio in the apartment from the radio so I can get it pumping like he has an Atmos setup like I do. Minimap and map fixes would be welcomed.

Another thing would be to add hair, tattoo, nails, clothing all that stuff to an improved vendor system.

I wish the radio/holgram projector would be set to OFF by default. Imagine you having your radio or tv on all the time. It's annoying as hell in the apartment.

I'm not sure if this was already mentioned but while playing I noticed(as I'm sure many of you have) that instead of the doors just being there they are locked. A LOT of them are locked. No one knows what's really going on behind the scenes but to me it seems that the devs were forced to release the game unfinished. With that being said do you think all of those locked doors are actually areas that were supposed to be explorable? I don't know much about programming so maybe they just had to press a button and it did all of that for them but if not why would they go through the effort of putting locked tags on all of those doors? My tinfoil hat is probably on too tight but ya never know.

no way dude, thats too many doors. It's just aestethic, you want to access whole city ? theres like thousands of locked doors but they are just like that. It would take another 5 years to fill all rooms unles you want COPY/PASTE 3 exact same rooms in every building

Let's hope they follow through. Sounds to me like the dev team are mad they weren't given the time or direction they needed from their management team to deliver the game they wanted.

Holy hell I didn't realize there were THAT many. Just seemed like a lot of work to put them instead of just having the door be there. Not my area of expertise though so that could've taken them 3 minutes to do.

2) Cutscenes. I believe it was bad decision to get rid of all cutscenes. Thanks to them we would care how our V look like, or what is wearing. Little thing that adds so much immersion to our personal preferences.

I know right? The no cutscene/interactive dialogues where you can move around seems like the worst idea ever to me. Thanks to it dialogues even in main story are often very buggy, wancky and just weird and unnatural. The overall robotics of the whole scenes sometimes looks like it was cut straigt out of Skyrim :D

It's been said earlier in the thread, but this game feels like an Early Access game on steam. And I hate Early Access games.

Anyone game ever turned out way better and like everything people wanted and much much more in the end. Terraria.

Being moddable is something that I think was inferred by the developers as the game was supposed to be customizable.

Cd project , promise to give the community the tools (extensive modding tools) to fix most of your problems please. Please.

Unless you have invested your money into the game beforehand, there is no reason that you can feel entitled to these promises. You basically lost nothing by not purchasing it and ignoring it. That the release didn't meet YOUR expectation is entirely your own merit.

Should they not have over-promised? Yes, maybe.
Should they release a (mostly) bug/crash-free game? Yes, certainly.
Is it their fault that people felt angry that it didn't match their expectation? No, not really.

Decades of many similar instances should've taught you as a consumer better (hello, No Man's Sky).

I can't fathom what view of the world produces an opinion like yours.
If the responsibility not to fall for false advertising lay solely at the customers side, companies would be allowed to completely make up everything about their products, including guaranteed features and options. You are basically saying they can lie as much as they want to trick you into paying, just where do you come from with an opinion like that?
I and so many others pre-ordered the game based on what CDPR told us was going to be in it, so damn right I can expect them to produce what they promised, everything else would mean I'm a dolt who likes to be fooled.

And there is one important difference between No Man's Sky and Cyberpunk 2077, one is a publisher who made two small racing games and then went on to try to create a game that was unprecedented.
CDPR had several very successful RPG titles under their belt, including one of the most successful games of the last few years, with a scope and a world that was impressive as hell.
And there are many open world games out there who share a lot of mechanics with Cyberpunk, so it might have been new ground for them, but the open world they wanted to create in itselft wasn't groundbreaking.

Actually, I'm glad you brought up No Man's Sky, because by all accounts the developer has managed to turn the game around and make it into what they initially promised and this is what most of us are hoping for Cyberpunk 2077 as well.

I am not going to lie. I play video games for almost 30 years now.
Sure there are examples like Aliens Colonial Marines who portrayed one game and then finished something and shiped something that you could not even describe as a pre alpha build. But this Cyberpunk 2077 release really takes the cake.

With all the cut content and cut features that should be in the game this could literally break the neck of the company if they ignore the issue for to long. A statement about what they are going to do in the next 3 to 6 months will be deciding their fate. If you cut your losses and tell your customers 90% of said content won't come back no matter what your "Trust" for CDPR is out the window.
And Devs putting 8 years into this project will start leaving as well. This has to be adressed by CDPR one way or another.

Cause even tough i love the game there are older games out there aside from GTA 5 who do everything better as Cyberpunk 2077 does right now.

Add this mod into the base game.
www.nexusmods.com

Better Controls Menu

Adds options in the key bind menu for keys that are not able to be bound by default.
www.nexusmods.com www.nexusmods.com
It lets you bind all the controlls that you want, like the default use button.
This is a PC GAME for gods sakes. the options to bind certain controlls are ALREADY BAKED INTO THE GAME. WHY ARE THEY HIDING THEM?! Let me have my controlls how I want them without having to re-add a mod every single patch. this would be SO EASY TO DO.

also, secondarily, fix the camera height so it isn't in my fucking neck. Really tired of having to look up to see other people when riding in cars, and its unforgivable when driving.
I CANT SEE THE ROAD OVER THE HOOD. WHO GREENLIT THAT. The worst offenders are the badlands cars that have guns (that I can't shoot. why not?) or other things strapped to the hood that directly obstruct my vew.
Driving in first person is way more immersive and cool, but in this game its a fucking brutal chore, that is just asking you to get into an accident.

This game is getting a lot of undeserved hate in my opinion but these two things are easy fixes and NEED to happen IMMEDIATELY.
tl;dr:
The camera needs to be a foot higher in the driver seat of the car (fpv)
Let me bind every single button to what I want.

This is what I want added to the world of CP2077:

This level of immersion and interaction is what I expect when we talk about living breathing open worlds. I want to live the city, to be able to lounge and chill, take it slow and get combat hours lasting bonuses for the action parts for doing so. Like, stay in a bar drinking whisky and talking to the bar man should give you hours for xyz bonuses in combat and a few drawbacks as well as giving useful information for sidequests and the world. People want to eat, drink, talk, explore, do slow investigative detective work, gather clues, listen to a bebop jazz band playing live, watching the streets from inside a tall building large window while it rays and they sip coffee and read/listen to the Night City news at a cafe... and get practical rewards for it.

More world, less open: this is what we need (watch the last half of the video).

Most of the game quests should not be given via cellphone, but at quest hubs, bars and restaurants or visiting your fixers from time to time...

Case in point, let's take the afterlife, you could go there from time to time to take some drink or food that gives bonuses to specific things, Jackie's drink could give bonuses while using revolvers and riding his motorcycle, could also make you remember things he said while riding his bike... anyways, talking to Claire while drinking unlocks quests and people of interest in the bar to talk to, you learn about the races and end up unlocking romantic options with her and other bar patrons, even if quick ones, also some quests might require you to be drunk or under the effect of some drug to appear to you. No quests in this hub have markers on the minimap it's all hidden within conversations / eating / drinking / lounging / chilling at said hub. At one point when you finished all races you might unlock the hability to tune your car with Claire, and so on... Even when there are no quests in the hubs you can still get specific bonuses and learn via conversations and news all about the game lore and world, insights.

Hubs should also have mini games.

Now, expand that to minor levels for each fixer and bar / restaurant in the game and remove most of the calls: there you go. Many RPGs do that: have many hidden side quest chains with lot's of dialog and quest hubs that you need to visit often. This is what I expect, much better than calls.

The wide variety of Romanceoptions and meaningful Relationships is just a straight lie, sorry. As a straight Male or Female you have ONE option each. Thats it. After the Story is done, these Characters never bother to contact you again. Also a shame that there is no followersystem, i mean its already implemented since characters follow you aroud in certain missions.

Ah man.. im still so sad about what a waste of trust and developmenttime this was.

(No this post is not about nudity, it is about the restrictive Way relationships are handled.)

Wanted to touch on these points. It took 8 years to get the game that we ended up getting, now imagine if they ended up overhauling the game to add in all of the missing content that was advertised or mentioned.

I would imagine that would take over a year depending on what's added and if it's added for free, then that's at a loss to them and I just can't see a world where any company does that.

Some of the cut stuff is easier to implement than others, but everything together, including all of the choices and consequences, splitting story, overhauling NPCs and AI would take a heck of a lot. It'd basically be the Witcher 3 expansions for free.

Would I love that? Of course. Do I think they should have had it all at launch? Absolutely. Did they lose any trust or goodwill from me? Yes. Do I expect them to do all this work at a loss? No, they'll either charge for it or not do it at all.

In my mind this game already failed. I'm just worried about their future, all evidence from other studios (EA, Activision, Bethesda) shows me that the future of their games is the same or worse. My only hope at this point is they prove me wrong and that a Cyberpunk sequel is what this game should have been based on what was advertised, shown and what developers talked about.

That Glassdoor employee review to me hit the nail on the head when it talked about how they should focus on making an RPG instead of a glorified action-adventure with a perk based progression system and that CDPR management had no idea what an RPG even was.

The world interactivity, NPC A.I and police are the ones that need a lot of work. But, for problems regarding the life paths and choices, I think what they need to do so an overhaul could be possible is that they just add new scenes with specific characters and skill checks for each life path, so they can further differentiate from each other. Like new specific scenes with street kid V and Padre, nomad V and Panam, or even corpo V and Merideth Stout( so they can flesh her out more)

Cyberpunk 2077 Was Supposed to Be the Biggest Video Game of the Year. What Happened?

Nearly a decade of hype led to a troubled release riddled with glitches, a livid fan base, refunds for potentially millions of players and a possible class-action lawsuit.
www.nytimes.com www.nytimes.com

"The immediate future looks dark for Cyberpunk’s makers — perhaps even darker than the future they built in Night City. Refund requests are pouring in by the thousands. Lawyers and investors in Warsaw are circling the situation, contemplating a class-action lawsuit against the company for what one attorney described as potential criminal “misrepresentation in order to receive financial benefits.” Many gamers are swearing off playing Cyberpunk entirely until the company fixes all of the problems."

So, does it mean that CDPR is actually never implementing needed promissed features into the game are just going broke hard hence abandoning the project? What do you people think? Curious...
