Merchant in cage bug

Hi

cant remember exact location but it is in velen area, found a merchant in a cage who says i should free him, he will make it worth my while. it is bugged. as you can see he is actually outside the cage and the key is nowhere to be found (killed and searched every enemy and checked every chest) but he still wont interact with me

also for fun, i hulk smashed this guys head clean into the environment. puny man..

A variation on this bug. Merchant trapped in gage, bandits didn't have key:

I have the same problem as well. Hopefully the developers fix it soon.

More over. If you'll reload to early save game and make sure bandits don't disappear so you can find the key, merchant will also be bugged afterwards.

There was a thread about this not too long ago and a red responded that they are looking into it.

But yea this bugged for me too.
