Mesh and Texture modding

Anyone know what the deal-y-o is with texture and mesh replacement until Redkit launches?

I would /love/ to be able to do simple things - replacing textures being one of them. (Get rid of the silly indigo sleeves on the cat armor - make them grey or brown or something. Mesh-wise, I'd love to make the Griffin armor less like a fat-man suit. And take out all that ugly gold. Gold? What self-respecting witcher ever wore gold armor?)

If anyone knows anything about how we can get this done in a pre-Redkit world, please post instructions or links!

Or just give us some other fun stuff - what mesh/texture mods are you planning to make? Etc. I have 3 armors I've made from scratch that I really hope I can put in the game at some point.

The only thing I'm aware of is that the textures are .dds that are switched to a container format afterwards. I'm looking forward to having an experiment with the games textures and wondering if more detail can be applied to the corners of building meshes.

Can't be done until CDPR allows (via an update) the loading of loose files.

Though i don't really see why they've integrity checks in first place.

It makes sense to implement those in client-sided MP game, but in SP only game?
Though as i'm reading EULA, it seems that as nice as CDPR is, they really don't like reverse-engineering.
