Metro Exodus is a good first person (cdpr can learn)

oh no. The game will look better graphically at release. Right now a shit ton of things look low res. it will look a lot better graphically at release. i expect the lighting to look better too

Having said that, I'm only expecting a few tweaks and touches leading to a slightly better looking game...I'm more than happy to be wrong though!

However, my main point was that if the OP expects Metro levels of graphical quality (I'm not sure he does) then I suspect he'll be disappointed given how different the two game worlds are.

They say it's the litttle details that make or break something or helps to push it to the excellence. So more animations like in Metro to make the whole game more inmersive and be more conscious of your body (since it's in first person) will always be a good thing. It would add a lot to the credibility of the gameplay. In the gameplay demo they showed I didn't see much of this but CDPR has high standars so hoping and probably they are considering this.
