Minimum system requirement issues

This can be caused for numerous reason, most of the time, your video card is the problem. There is not enough dedicated memory to it; it uses shared memory with the system. It could be that your soundcard is not supported (see the list of not supported hardware below).Sound cards that are not supported:- Hercules Muse 5.1 (C-Media audio)Video Cards not supported:- S3 Colt- S3 S27- S3 S8- Intel GMA 950 based cardsProcessors that are not supported:- AMD Duron series- AMD Athlon XP 2400+ through 3200+- AMD Sempron 2400+ through 2800+- Intel Celeron seriesHere are the minimum requirements: Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 2 or Vista(Operating system must be up to date with latest fixes prior to installation)Intel Pentium 4 2.4Ghz or AMD Athlon 64 +28001 GB Ram for Microsoft® Windows® XP Service Pack 21536 Mb Ram for Microsoft® Windows® Vista128 MB Video RAM or greater with DirectX9 Vertex Shader/Pixel Shader 2.0 support (Nvidia GeForce 6600 or Ati Radeon 9800 or better)DirectX 9.0c compliant soundcard. To get it to work, you will need to have the 1.2 patch and create a shortcut to the file c:\program files\the witcher\system\witcher.exeRight click on that shortcut and go in properties, in the target box, add –dontForceMinReqsSo before you do the change, this is what you have in your target box: “C:\Program Files\The Witcher\System\witcher.exe”After the changes it should look that way:“C:\Program Files\The Witcher\System\witcher.exe” –dontForceMinReqs(Dont Copy/pate it, you have to type it. it is : “C:\Program Files\The Witcher\System\witcher.exe”(space)-dontForceMinReqsIf you have an Intel chip as a video card, this procedure will only help to a certain point; those chips are not gaming cards. If you are on a desktop, you should go buy a Video card, if you choose to do so, ask on the board, tell us your budget for that card and if it is an AGP or PCI-E (if you don’t know, someone will help you to find it out.If you are on a notebook and have an Intel chip, there is no way to replace it but, Lord Faux has posted a workaround so you can run it, follow this [iurl=http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=8174.msg211687#msg211687]link[/iurl]_______________________________________What does that mean.. is it not possible to play in my Window Vista? Low dedicated memory is reason of getting this message. One of developers said, that he sent message to engine programmer to solve this problem.

"Low dedicated memory is reason of getting this message. One of developers said, that he sent message to engine programmer to solve this problem."So does this mean we will likely see a fix soon? I am dying to play the game and not to happy that I meat the requirments and yet can't

Unfortunately, I have the same problem... I hope that they will fix it soon. Otherwise, I simply wasted my money. Maybe there is a possibility to skip the test? :X

When came the fix?

Not to be blunt, but maybe the OP should register himself as Game Owner.I did, 'cause I read something like: to get support you need to register..and ofcourse get the extensions ;D

I've met this problem too on my Sony Vaio AR41E... I hope they'll get a fix soon, else I can't play my favorite game while I'm away from home for work, thing which happens very often :(This is a great game and it's a shame that it takes years to load (atleast on my notebook) and gives errors!

Hello, same problemI can't run the game too, I have Sony Vaio SZ4MRN/B notebook withCore 2 Duo 1.8Ghz CPU2GB RAMVista with latest fixesGeForce 7400 GPU which uses shared memoryAnd the game says - System Not Met Minimum Requirements!Developers, please fix it!!! or provide the option to switch off such checks.

Habe die Dateien runtergeladen doch dort steht " Can not open file "....." as archive"!? Was soll ich tun!?Hab sowohl mit Vista 32 als auch mit Vista 64 probiert!EDIT: So habs jetzt doch geschafft, aber The Witcher läuft leider immer noch net!

Not sure if this'll help, but I had this issue with another game. It turned out that Windows wasn't able to see what processor I was using, nor my vid card. So it assumed I didn't have the hardware, yet I was just playing it not too long ago. What I found out, if you're using AOL Instant Messenger, they recently pushed an update that's hosing a lot of computers, to the point where you have to do a system restore to make it work again. That update would've come around the time the Witcher came out. You guys may want to see if you recently downloaded an update to that, as that may be the problem for some of you.

find out why systemrequirements arent being checked correctly!easiest way i think is to offer a utility that bypass's the system checki didnt make the game so i dont know how it works just a suggestionPLEASE HURRY IM DIEING :'(

I am also having this difficulty, despite my computer having sufficient specs for the game.If anyone finds a way to bypass the checker, post it. Otherwise, QQ waiting for the programmers. :*(
