Missable side quests list and guide

+
After a quick test, I can confirm that Redania's Most Wanted fails when beginning The Isle of Mists, but Possession does not. However, The Lord of Undvik does not fail either, so it is that quest then that is listed incorrectly in the OP. I did not test this in gameplay yet, but in the files The Lord of Undvik, Possession, King's Gambit, and Coronation all refer to the fact "q210_on_quest" or "q210_quest_start"* as the condition for failing the quest, rather than "q402_escort_completed" (q210 = Battle Preparations, q402 = The Isle of Mists). With the exception of Possession, these are currently all listed as failing in The Isle of Mists, so that is a few more quests that could be incorrect.

* Edit: adding these with console commands to simulate beginning Battle Preparations indeed fails The Lord of Undvik and Possession, but I do not have a save where King's Gambit or Coronation is an active quest at the moment. It is most likely however that they would fail, too.

I made an account just to see dude right before posted. Anyway DarkSerge27 "An Unpaid Debt" is also tied with these quests (stranger in strange land & cave of dreams). It all starts thought with a contract "Phantom of Eldberg".

The prima guide doesnt mention this neither. Also i read someone say (i think it might be this thread but cant recall) that if you follow the secondary quests in order by level you wont miss any) this simply isn't true because I missed these (cave of dreams etc). Plus there are some secondary quests that have the same level how do you know which to do first (rhetorical question)?
So basically finish "Phantom of Eldberg" contract before doing Kings Gambit or you'll miss these quests. You can still do "Phantom of Eldberg" after Kings Gambit just instead of Jorund dying and triggering "Stranger in Strange Land" he lives and the NPC you do "Cave of Dreams" with is killed in "Kings Gambit".

Hope this Helps.

there is a ! sign on the road to Lurtch (place of fool's gold dlc) of a

This side quest later on continues at a hut in the fields with all the nekker monster nests wests of Benek. :)

Another quest that maybe missable is "Worthy of Trust"
being the merchant Johan Bohner isn't at the Kaer Trolde harbor anytime I check. I say maybe because perhaps a long time ago I told him to "f off" and forgot or I accepted but for some reason it's not in my quest list because I haven't finished it? I guess next I will be checking between the harbor and the crossroads where he sits next to a carriage telling a different story or if hes not there I will check where he's supposed to pay you back with interest (Fyresdal) just in case I've already met him everywhere else and forgot (and its not in my quest list?). But I'm of the opinion that if you dont do it by a certain time he's simply gone (like before starting Ugly Baby or something like that), any others got anything to add?

To my knowledge, if you don't "loan" him the money the first time, he never shows up again. So it is "missable" in that you can fail to trigger it; just like when you chose to tell somebody you are too busy to accept their quest in a normal conversation.

Berengar's Blade in Kaer Morhen should be listed with a "!". It fails after progressing through The Battle of Kaer Morhen.

No, you just refused to take the quest, so it's neither "finished" nor "failed". Some of the very sidey side-quests are like that. Others are more persistent and the questgiver waits eagerly for you to change your mind; but some will just accept your refusal and the quest becomes avoidable.

I would argue that "avoidable" does not equal "missable" though. :)

Hi!

Are there two quests called lord of undvik? It's a pain in the ass to find info about Lord of undvik and I have completed The Lord of Undvik.

Please help me where to start Lord of Undvik.

I will soon post a list much more detailed than this one.

I'm sorry, but for me being a Completionist involves much more than just completing all the quests, going to every "?" on the map, and getting all of the Gwent cards. Those are just playing the game. For me, being a completionist is discovering every undocumented cave or treasure and finding all of the quests (there very minor quests that have minimal or no real documentation and are very easy to miss). Few people seem to take the time to explore ALL of the islands in the Skellige archipelago; some of those islands contain a lot of undocumented monsters, loot and locations. For instance, on one island east of Spikeroog I found the lootable body of a dead werewolf surrounded by the lootable bodies of half a dozen Skellige warriors. One another island to the east of Spikeroog, on the top of a mountain, I found an undocumented pirate camp with a large stash of loot that for me included 5 dimeritium bars; I never seem to have enough of them going into Blood and Wine, enhanced Dimeritium gets expensive fast...

In Velen, there is an undocumented cave north of Alness and east of Dancing Windmill. Nothing much there other than nekkers, but still it was interesting to find. I suppose that's one of the things I enjoy so much about Witcher 3, on every new playthrough I seem to find something new that I haven't found before. To me, being a Completionist means being an Explorer and thoroughly exploring the beautiful world CDProjektRed created for us.

Hi! I'm not sure if it's because of the patch. I still got the quest "Thou shall not pass" even if I got a lot of passes already. I just used use Axii and ask him how to get pass even if I already have. Before talking to the commander, I have already cleared the "Fake Pass" quest using Axii on the Shady dealer before helping his brother. I already saw his brother before talking to him but I was way underleveled (~level 5) and I have level 3 Axii so I restarted the game and talk to the dealer right away (avoiding the vicinity of the quest giver so I can return). Even if I can get a free pass eventually, I am just a sucker for mind magic, haha. I came back to help his brother after doing a lot of quests where I got the "Letter of Safe Conduct" from 3/4 of the bloody baron quest and "Contract: Woodland Beast".

My point is simple but even if my sequence was really illogical, I still got the quest. :D

At least one is missing:
Man's best friend
(200m N-E of Inn at the Crossroads)
You can start this quest before reaching the Pontar crossing to Novigrad!
When I realized, I've missed it, I have started to look back in my savegames, and it was only available, before I took the Woodland Beast quest from the officer!
Not sure, if it is necessary to avoid Woodland Beast, maybe I just come through the house, killed the wild dog and didn't realized, there are some children speaking to me, because at that period I've made rare saves.
Anyway, it was more than 1 month ago for me, and makes me angry, I don't want to go back so far, but I'm a crazy completitionist, thinking about leaving the whole game, when I think into, how many possible missed stories I had... :(
Does somebody know a solution?

Czy muszę dokończyć to zadanie by odnaleźć Ciri w Velen?
Jak mam się dostać do miejsca, w którym są Ogary?
Dziękuję za pomoc.
