Missing dsdx9_39.dll

I know this is covered in the FAQ on the site but the solution doesn't work!

Enjoyed first Witcher game so downloaded the second one. The first one had a hissy fit involving a missing DLL file that time dsdx9_35.dll. I installed about 40 things and it finally worked out. Now the second one has decided it needs d3dx9_39.dll. Have checked and it's not on my computer. All the help on the internet tells me to download what I've already downloaded! Running Directx 11.

Oh so slightly wary of the sites on google offering to let me download the individual file ¬_¬

I have so far downloaded:
directx_june2010
directx_feb2010
dxwebsetup

Have fully updated windows etc. It's driving me mad. Only got first Witcher two days ago so can't be that anything has updated inbetween!

The one that should work every time is the end-user runtime download from Windows. The web installer regularly misses needed components.

Tried this one yet? http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109

Already downloaded that one. I followed this guy's advice: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/ht/restoredx9dll.htm and found that I the dll file I needed was there just not extracted it. Extracted it and it was still saying it wasn't there! Not sure if I've got to put it in a specific folder or something :/

Don't even try to extract single files from that distribution. No matter what that fool wrote, run dxsetup and install the whole thing.

Only the installer can put those files in an acceptable location, install any prerequisite files, and make the system aware that they are there.

Fucking around with system files is for wizards who know about things like DLL registration and filesystem virtualization. The rest of us will only make things worse when we try.

I seriously don't believe this! I tried installing that again last night as I'd already done it to sort the first game out and it wouldn't work and came up with an error message. Tried it today and it's worked! Computers! **flail** Thanks for your help!
