Tried Witcher MOBA today for a while, Samsung Galaxy S4 and it worked pretty well.

Has anyone played TWAG on mobile? Is there any place to get it DRM free? I think it would be great if GOG included the mobile version, at least as an optional extra.

Don't CDPR sell APK packages anywhere?

It's been ages since I played anything on my phone. Gunship Battle is pretty good. I also have Soda crush saga but never played it. It's for sending hearts/lives to my wife.

Xperia Z3.

Would that I could, but unfortunately it's available only for Tablets, not for Smartphones. I guess there are too many small elements on the screen to make that feasible, are there?

The TWBA on the other hand... is it any good, @slimgrin , @gregski ? How does it play? Is there any depth? I assume, micromanagement is not nearly as important as in regular PC MOBAs, but what about strategy, character builds etc? Is it more than a multiplayer brawler?

@aaden - so far I only played it for a short while in training mode, so I can't say too much about strategy etc. If I manage to get into it a little more, I'll report back.

I'm enjoying it, pretty damn addictive. I don't quite understand how to win though, I capture the 3 points and the game just keeps going. I'll have to watch the tutorial. Games are short so you get to level up quickly. Gameplay is very fast. I like the abilities, they each have a tactical purpose. Lethos leveled up aard and Phillipa's lighting kick ass. Presentation wise it's nicely done with good music. Drawbacks are:

-binary skill tree. Literally two paths - skills or items. Very basic.
-no way to favorite people.
-only two maps and they're small.
-no in game leaderbaord. Bleh.
-it'd be nice to see random loot on the map, and some destrucables/hidden secrets.

Overall, it's quite good for FTP. I'm impressed. I think they have a good foundation to build bigger maps and more complex skill trees, so I hope that happens.

edit- ok I watched the tutorial. You have to drain the opposing team's points to zero and capturing the towers does that. Anyone know how we unlock characters? I can only play with three at the moment...ok, just figured it out. you can tell I don't have much experience with tablets, lol. Characters aren't very cheap but CDPR gave everyone a bunch of cash to make up for the rocky release. I have enough to buy two. Gotta go with Geralt and Eithne.

It does look fun for a mobile game, tutorial's worth watching for the music alone:

I hear there are better choices out there, though. Haven't played it myself, don't have the technology to do so :(

Also, apparetly Letho says Sly Zard instead if Slyzard. What?

P.S. I'm not 100% sure, but I think the narrator in the video is Loredo's VA.

Looks... interesting. Not a fan of this type of games, specially on a touch screen. Also it really bothers me that it comes with micro transactions (according to Google), a thing I absolutely hate about modern (specially mobile) games.

But it's The Witcher, so we'll see.

Everything can be unlocked via play, you don't have to buy anything. Of course, you're looking at serious grinding to unlock all the characters. Right now, I don't see any evidence of paying to level up or buy better gear. The stuff you buy is cosmetic, I think. As for the style of gameplay, no question it'd be better suited to a mouse, but it's not coming to PC.

Works well for me. Of course I'm at the bottom of the globe so I'm used to networks not working. If they can keep me online, I'm sold.

Played a few minutes of TWBA and it was OK. Kind of fun in an arcade-y sort of way. Works very well with max detail on my Nexus 7 2013. Only played a couple of practice battles but may try online later. I wished I could play with K+M though...

My only complaint (and it's kind of big) is that I absolutely hate that annoying, cookie monster voice that tells you when you capture/lose a tower and when you win. Absolutely annoying, CDPR: please get rid of it ASAP and replace it with a regular human voice.

The voice is awful, I agree. I hope you'll at least try PvP or team v AI before you bail on it. I'm new to this genre and interested in your impressions. I'm getting annihilated in PvP, not sure how much of that is due to my incompetence or imbalance. Even on medium the game seems very difficult. Online, Phillipa and Letho are friggin monsters in every match. One thing they did a great job with is Geralt's attack animations. They're the the same ones he performs in TW2.

I'm curious so I will at least give it a try. I am expecting to be utterly obliterated if I play online.

So, how do you unlock new characters? Some in-game currency?

---------- Updated at 12:46 PM ----------

OK just played a PVP match. 10 kills, 8 deaths, winning team. Not bad, actually kind of fun. Only disconnected once, but the other team had one player on and off.

Played as Letho. Looked at the store and I only have enough for one extra character. Is that how it's supposed to be?

It took me over two hours of play to earn enough crowns for a new character. So it's slow going. Or you pay real money. Just played on medium in team vs AI with a level 11 Geralt, and we lost 0-430. That's a wipe out. I want to say it's imbalanced, but I don't fare much better in PvP. I notice much more disconnection issues on medium because I think people are like fuck this shit I'm out.

Hmm... so it probably wasn't just setting it from Easy to Medium that led to me getting my ass handed to me with Iorveth after completely dominating the first match with Letho. Quen is a complete Beast Mode when in 1v1 situations. You just take an additional few hits for 0 damage.

Still, it felt like the gap between Easy and Medium was kinda harsh. Or maybe the setup two archers + warrior (my team) vs two mages + warrior (AI) was just abyssmal.

It's unforgiving as fuck. I played 20 minutes in a PvP match and still lost. But I can't stop playing. One thing is, you have to move constantly. I feel archer need to stay on the towers and deal damage while sword guys need to meet the opposition.

OK played a few more battles and this is a really fun game most of the time, except when things suck. One time you get a good party where everyone knows what to do and another you get a total mess, everyone doing their own thing or sitting on their asses by the spawn point. This one time a guy with Geralt kept kicking everyone's asses in such a ridiculous, overpowered kind of way. Items? Upgrades? I also think the match making method needs to be improved, I've only seen a couple of balanced battles and the rest were clearly one sided. I've played mostly PVP and won most matches. Played one coop vs. the computer on medium and we annihilated it, like 479 to 0. Am I just having a lucky streak?

Still haven't unlocked anything, just leveled up Letho a bit. I have like 950 shop coins, what should I do with them? Geralt? Operator? Suits? This is what I hate about micro transactions, you either pay or play a shit ton of hours.

Yeah, AFK/Disconnected people seem to be quite a problem, at this point. It's one of the major complaints over in the TWBA forums.

And in a 3v3 game that has 3 character classes it would be logical, imo, to have one of each class in a match if a at all possible. Instead the abovementioned match happened in a purely AI match. So that definitely needs work.

Microtransactions are not bad at all in this game, tbh. There is absolutely nothing of consequence you can buy. It's cosmetic upgrades and persistent champion unlocks - and at this point, you can play 37,5% of available champions in the free rotation, anyway, which changes on a weekly/monthly basis. Have a favorite champion? You should have enough crowns to unlock at least one and if you want more, it seems to me that paying 5€/$ once is not steep at all for a well-made game you're enjoying.
