[MOD - advice needed] Replacing W3 head with W2 head

This is great! Is there any release date on the less blocky ponytail?

Honestly I've tried to fix this issue several ways but I can't get a proper result :( I've tried toning down the weights so it doesn't dangle like crazy now, tried cooking with the alpha-enabled textures you've cooked but it's still blocky. Also tried pointing the mesh to the vanilla W3 textures and f*ed around with the UV map layout but made a mess of it all..I guess it's remaping the UV that needs to be done but it's going to take me a while to get it right.

I'll hit you guys up if I manage to fix anything about it..gonna update the nexus mod with the fixes I have so far for this hairstyle but the pony's still blocky..

What I was actually trying to say if a release of that hairstyle with an alpha channel is in the foreseeable future.:)

How well would a vanilla mesh retexture work on this model?
 
@TudorAdrian and @-The_Crasher-, guys, thanks to both of you for great work!

@-The_Crasher-, your TW2 Geralt retexture is awesome. Makes Geralt looks like one mean SOB who actually means business.

Are you working on making this retexture a bit more pale? It would be great if you could make the torso to match the color of the head, vanilla torso is too red for my taste. It'd be even better if you could combine your TW2 retexture with the Striga scars on Geralt mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1383/?).






@TudorAdrian, what eye mod do you use in that picture below? It seems to differ from this mod by Franci04 (http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/1273/?)

...so I've recently managed to get hold of a mesh for Geralt's W2 body and have tried redoing this from scratch, importing a new head mesh, body and palms. Replacing the body requires that the palms get replaced as well.

There's still some clipping going on around the wrists and the neckline but I hope that a little bit of re-weighting work will fix things.





Once I manage to get rid of all the clipping, I'll try to fix the hairline. If these work out well, I'll make this public. If not, then dev limbo it is.

EDIT: W2 Geralt was a really skinny guy compared to the buffed man-doll he's in W3
 
It's very nice to see both of you are still working on this one :D Maybe a stupid question but, will, for example Kaer Morhen armor scale up with new body mod, or it will just look like he has vanilla body with armor on?

The Ponytail is "blocky" because of the bones screwing up the pieces of hair coming off of it.

I think we should just do what CDPR did and get rid all of the "rogue hair" and make it smooth:

-The_Crasher- is there any sort of filter that you used to generate the ambient map for Geralt's head? I have to draw one up for the W2 body and hands 'cause they're different in color tone when in-game. I've tried removing the ambient map from the head altogether when recooking, looks good but in Vizima when he's interogated and shaved there's a weird gloss on his face at one particular moment (only happens when the mod's cooked without any ambient map).

Auch.

The hands / palms and torso would need ambient maps. I tried using a color match filter from the one you drew up for the head mesh but it doesn't look right.

EDIT: removed textures due to dangling objects :uma:

Do you add separate layers, paint over, tweak transparency / blending and then just flatten everything out?

I haven't modded W3 in a month or so, so I need some filling in with the names.

Ambient maps are the ones that have the orange, and green on the face textures, right?

By the way, you should pm me that texture instead, because I can see Geralt's penis... :uma:
