Right you are :D

Yep, Volumetric clouds has been my one and only mod thus far ;).
I have nothing to do with the mod "COMPILATION" though. I just named it that way, because it literally is a compilation of different versions.
Maybe I should change the thread title, I wouldn't want to offend anyone;)

I don't think anyone would get offended. Just confused. Your name GMSBS_Ghost and mod name "Compilation..." is what gets people confused because you get mistaken for the user Wasteland Ghost and the mod COMPILATION.

Looks great when the smoke (version 4) from chimney

but the same smoke effect appears when something cooking on open fire

It looks slightly strange... Especially when you are far from fire and it looks like something burned

Is it possible to separate these effects, i mean leave vanilla smoke for open fire cooking ?

Yes, I'm fully aware of this problem. Thing is, some fireplaces use the same smoke effect chimneys do, like in your screenshot. I tried to change the associated particle file, but it didn't work. If someone has an idea how to change this successfully I could try again.

I mainly published these versions as is, because I probably won't have lots of time in the near future and I also didn't want to make you wait too long for something I might not even be able to improve.

Anyways, I'm really glad that quite some people like the changes I made :)

Okay, I get that. Would a moderator be so nice and remove the word "Compilation" from the thread title? :)

Well, that was one of the targets I would have liked to achieve to some level, when I started. However, what you should know, is that back then, there were actual volumetric smoke/cloud effects in the game. Anyways, at some point I realized that I couldn't get anywhere near such fidelity. I will say though, that someone more talented than me in texturing could possibly create something similar, albeit simpler looking.

I don't expect effect like, or simmilar to this screenshots, I think more about adding more dark and puffy smoke (similar to this from your mod http://i.imgur.com/dy03WQv.jpg) to this cutscenes (https://youtu.be/kBgVdrk8wiw?t=1m13s), in place of oryginal smoke effect :)

I actually tried to do something like that and well... it somehow went wrong ^^:

Maybe, I'll try something else in the future, however, at the moment I'm very busy, so don't expect anything anytime soon.

I really like to see those textures (especially version 4) as smoke textures. Maybe you could tweak the transparency a bit, because the textures are too dense. They should loosen up a bit imo. Did you come any further with it?

GregorWladacz So, just to be clear, you would like to see version 4 with some very dark smoke as in the screenshot with the wild hunt? In other words, mostly black chimney smoke?

I think GregorWladacz wants the version 4 out but with slightly tweaked transparency of the smoke, now it's too thick.

GMSBS_Ghost I meant, version 4 for smoke, like burning houses etc, therefore a little bit darker. But for the chimneys, its too thick, so you need to tweak transparency.

Since you have more experience with it, could you say, where which textures are used ingame? Because I want to give it a try and modify it. I already found a texture for burning houses in Novigrad area for hearts of stone (smoke_tileable.tga), but I need to know for exemple, which textures appear in the frozen village, or the burning stables. And how to increase the particles. Maybe you can help me with that ;)?
