[mod] Lochlain's Reskin Projects: Upd 11/4

Hey guys. Finally managed to get the forum to send me mah activation e-mail so I figured I'd toss this on up for my first post since I just -had- to fiddle with the game about two hours into playing. :DThe following is a simple reskin/tweak of Geralt's face. I always thought that scar over his eye was a bit too distracting, and that the others themselves also took focus off his face in Geralt. As well as that, I thought that his eyed, which are unique enough in their own, were a bit... Dull? Or at least, you didn't really notice them as much as you'd expect from someone with yellow eyes with vertical slits. But if you don't want to use the eye texture, you can just delete the file oko_geralt_1.ddsSo below I have the picture, link, and readme. Click said pic or click link below for those of you who skim over my babbling intro. :Dhttp://www.mediafire.com/?49rxjcmcum2
Installation:Copy and paste data folder inside zip to your main The Witcher folder. It'll give you the usual warnings and such, but since you're not actually overwriting anything unless you yourself have tinkered with the textures, you shouldn't be doing any harm.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------A Sleeveless Geralthttp://www.mediafire.com/?cljxt3t11tdAs per requested by 1Chris. Will probably update and fix the normal later.

Brilliant work, looks different, better different that is. Not that I don't like the scar, but it is very nice with some verisimilitude once in a while. Thanks! Keep it up ;D

Is there any way I could strip Azar of his ugly raggy skullcap ;-) or is that texture tightly attached and merged with him?I am asking about it because I have some wicked joke (nothing smutty) on my mind for an insider-gag ;-) I just say Meister Propper (germans might know what I mean)Other character that would interest me - is there any chance to strip Magister of his glasses? I am curious if what I have seen is true or not. Since you almost never really can see his eyes, it could be that the graphic just played tricks on me,But the few times I managed to catch a glimpse at his eyes from the side - they looked awfully weird.

Well, with Azar I imagine you possibly could turn the skullcap into a hair texture, but it'd probably look awfully flat unless you also really fiddled with the normal, but even then it might not match. Now, with the the professor, what we/I/someone could do at this point, without modeling tools, is see if it's possible to edit the alpha of the texture so that it's completely invisible. One thing I'd actually like to try at some point is see if I can dig around through the files and see if it's possible to swap out the bodies. Probably not possible without any modding tools, but I'm going to rummage around and see maybe what happens if I replace the leather jacket model with another. The only problem is that there are alooooooooot of files. Theres 10,304 texture files alone. :p

It'd be awesome if you could swap out some outfits, you know, give Geralt some NPC fassion alternates. Porbably hard to mess with the meshes without the toolset though right?Anyway, nice to have a pioneer modder here, adds to the longevity.

Make it so geralt is sleeveless like Berengar. I think Geralt would look cooler with a sleeveless shirt under his lether jacket and his muslces showing like Berengar!!!

You mean something like... ;D?Mostly just used alot of Berengar's texture. Didn't take too much time and the musculature needs fixing on the right on in particular but thats mostly because I'm anal retentive, plus it's just temporary. Maybe at some point I'll load up some old art reference stuff and see if I can get it right. Although thats aloooooooooot of effort. ;DI'd also like to point out that I'm no miracle worker. I'll probably end up finding that swapping one model for another completely borks skeletons and animations, but finding out that will have to wait since I've got a full schedule of work this week so the seriuz sorting around of the game's files will have to wait. Editing textures however is usually pretty simple stuff, but again, I'd like to point out I probably won't have the time to do things unless they're relatively doable and are of an actual interest to me. Mostly I spend my time looking at Geralt so thats all I'd probably tweak :p. In this case it was a breeze because Berengar's textures were easy to find.

;) ;D And if there was a possibility to give Azar grey skin and orange different-sized eyes... As for Magister's eyes - I've also caught a few glimpses of them in the cutscenes and somehow it seemed that he has witcher-like eyes - yellowish with vertical pupils... But I may be mistaken.

Oh yes let's turn Javed into an Orc ;-)And about Magister's eyes. Jup I think I saw the same - would make sense in a way since Magister is all game for "New Better" Witchers that have no emotions.Could be quite possible that he took the basic mutations (if that is possible)

About Azar - I didn't mean any orcs here, but a certain Mr.Voodoo ;)Also we could make Magister's hair longer and perhaps talk him into wearing a hat ;D

How about trying to give geralt some armour like the stuff the other witchers have (vesemir, eskel, leo, etc... maybe even the final unknown witcher)

Lochlain, to be honest - that muscle texture of Berengar is looking strange on a sleeve model. ???Take a look on the Geralt's left arm and You see what I mean. Fortunately; the face cosmetic surgery is always popular. And profitable.
