[mod] My Little Cheat Mod

First please forgive my possible grammar mistakes cause im not a native english speaker. This is a little cheat mod i've made thx to Hedi's useful "How to change shops items"topic. This mod adds Ard'aenye(really cool looking steel sword,Damage +200%),Moonblade(awesome silver sword,Damage +100%)Raven's armor(i playtested it,no journal entries or anything so its safe to use but you should backup your savegames before using mods like this)and Ceremonial Mahamakan dagger to Hermits shop, you can find the hermit in ACT IV,soutwest of the the fields.Important:You shouldn't buy anything from hermit before using this file,im not sure but it may not work..Installation:Just put the file to your witcher/data directory. You can remove the file after buying the goodies from the hermit.PS:This is not a big game spoiling mod cause you still need to play the game until the act IV so dont be harsh ;)Anyway enjoy :)

If the marketcat and shoptypes are left unchanged, await regular prices. Can go to 3000 orins for some blades, no idea for the raven armor, cause that one is not "for sale" in the game.Besides, was a good point to put all this stuff in chapter IV only. I've heard (and tested myself) same with the dwarven blacksmith from chapter I .. well, tested, and learned how to "change shop items" then gone back to regular shops :)

Im sorry but it'll cost a little fortune :( You must pay total 5000 orens for Raven's Armor and Ard'aenye(2500 each)Moonblade is kinda cheap, its 500 orens and mahakam rune dagger will cost you another 300 orens.God,this mod start to lose its "cheat" feature isn't it :-\

I didn't want to spoil the game too much and chapter IV is kinda makes sense to me,not too early nor too late ;)

Well, nothing difficult here : open the marketcat.2da and / or shoptypes.2da with your usual text editor, see how it's done. Well, marketcat.2da contains some min/max prices for items (not all of'em I guess, but most), and shoptypes is the file with the buy / sell rate, for different vending npcs : from VeryAdverse (neutral but doesn't like Gerlat much) to VeryAdvantageous (guess the Scoai'tel / Order vendor, if you supported them)

Well, thx for the info it sounds fairly easy but marketcat contains only general stuff like food, book, sword, alcohol etc..I dont want to mess up whole temerian economy just because of this :)

You're right, I previously raised up prices for the things npc's will buy from you, but you don't need so much money ingame. Apart from drinks and other stuff you'll need for alchemy (wich you loot a lot, everywhere, if you think to visit all houses you can), side quests in every chapter will give you enough for the books. And well, this is uneven necessary (almost), because chatting with peoples here and there can also give some information on plants, monsters ..This is really the first game in ages I spent so much time playing, and each I redo a chapter, or a game, I spent more searching for the right npc to offer some food, drink, whatever ... Amazing content.

FYI - If anyone wants to make a "cheat" just modify the file named q1frightner.utc (I think this is close to what it is called). This is the corpse where you get the frightner's eye in the prologue. You can place all the items you want in here and have them for free and get them early in the game. I don't know if there are any other fightners in the game, but I assume that since the file is "q1" it refers to the corpse in the prologue only, so it shouldn't cause any problems as long as you don't place "game breakers" into the corpse.Dr. ShadowP.S. - If anyone needs more info, or if you can't find the file just let me know....

Yes, I thought about that kinda modifications too, but was scared to make game crash. Not sure we can add any / many ingredients in the item_list of some monster. Anyway, will give a try.( and the files .utc are extracted from _templates00 as well as the .utm ones)

Are these completely made up weapons? Or are you just introducing them earlier on into the game?

anyway that we can edit this so that you can buy em or get them right off the get go. it doesnt seem worth it that far into the game when you only have two more chapters.
