[Mod request](If possible) Transparent rain drops

Can we make rain more transparent? Because it's almost like white lines right now.

Look at the slick work of WatchDogs moded rain.

Someone should really do something with those white lines we have for rain.

Agreed! And maybe tweak the lightning bolts, to boot.

The storms clouds, lighting (no "n"), sound effects, etc. are fantastic, but the other two usually make me want to use the 'stoprain()' console command.

Rain info is stored in textures. You can export them. I know that people have had issues getting textures to import properly though, so good luck.

The rain just doesn't look right as white lines. This mod idea would be amazing!

lightning bothers me even more. They definitely need some shader.

I'm guessing this would just be a texture edit, so it probably shouldn't be too hard to pull off. Either way, I'm all for it! :threaten:

The point is, who's gonna do it? No one has bothered so far.

Rain uses fx\textures\water\raindrops_2x1_blurred.xbm for drops and fx\textures\water\rain_normal.xbm for drizzle. Drops transparency defined by alpha channel, maybe someone can adjust it properly... I've just decreased its brightness a bit and got this:

Before-Aftter:

Heavy rain drops become hardly noticeable
