I recently installed The Witcher again. I saw this mod on Moddb and thought it would be nice to have higher rez textures (the game is over 2 years old now). I updated to EE, got patch 1.5 and Director's Cut patches. I then downloaded this mod via a torrent I found because the Moddb would only download about 700MB before the download stoped and Rapid Share was way slow (150k/s). The torrent I found is here: http://www.gameupdates.org/details.php?id=3956I ran the big install file then the patch that was on Moddb. When I started a new game alot of textures were missing or corrupt.
what video card? how much video memory?BTW, the textures are just sharpened and not truly of higher resolution

Try reverting nvidia drivers back to 185.xx or 186.xx.
Does Witcher have a proublem with the 19x+ drivers or is it an issue related to this mod? I'd hate to use any older drivers then I already am (using 190.x current is 196.x).

The game has problems with new drivers or... new drivers have problems with the game, depending how you look on it. Older drivers work so it's nvidia fault they broke something recently. You might see an improvement to your issue after uninstalling the mod but sooner or later, with 19x.xx drivers, you'll encounter problems without any mod installed.

that should be enough anyway, you have the latest nVidia drivers 196.21 or 196.34 and the latest DirectX February 2010: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=0cef8180-e94a-4f56-b157-5ab8109cb4f5 too ?

I tried both things listed here. I guess I'll try and downgrade drivers like Flash suggested.

hey there, great mod, looks great.i noticed 2 things-1) at the beginning of chapter 4 the trees on the shore are big blobs of green instead of trees, only spot in game i notice glitch at, and it looked fine when i took the override folder out and played game.2) i was cleaning up room on my Hard Drive and noticed that the Witcher is 13,311 MB and the Grafikmod is 16,752 MB. Is this supposed to be this big? im just wondering becuase its a little bigger than the game itself. (i might have accidentally instlled twice or something wierd like that.)

OMG, you sir are an absolute Legend, I just want to say a huge thank you for your unbelievable work that you have done on this massive scale project, The amount of detail is superb, and looks stunning! Combined with Hi res models this is a whole new playing experience and i must say anyone who is playing the Witcher vanilla most upgrade and use this wonderful mod!!!Although i have noticed 1 game breaking Bug and i am not 100 Percent sure as to why this has occurred but this is what the problem is that i am having.. I have somehow lost all the plants in the game, not just the textures either, every single plant is missing that i have come across, in the outskirts of vazima :( the mods i am using are as follows- Extreme immersions- Your Texture mod- Hi res Characters- Difficulty potions- Perfect blood- Full Combat Re balance (FCR)- Antiquarian Sells swords Meteoroids swords- Doppler mod- Kalkstein sells teleportation stones and potions- Slots unlocked- The witcher patch 1.5- Witcher EE complete patch- Witcher EE blood rival patchPlease can someone let me know if anyone else is either having this issue :( or knows what the problem might be.I would be extremily grateful and once again awesome work on this fine mod!! http://img153.imageshack.us/img153/3902/witcher2010050701082565.jpghere are a few more pics so you can see what i mean http://img99.imageshack.us/gal.php?g=witcher2010050701081357.jpg

This mod has a patch here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/the-witcher-texturen-mod/downloads/texturen-patch Is this included in mod itself now with the latest version here or shall I install the patch too?

Hello there, very nice mod. Thanks for the great work and especialy for sharing it with us. I do have one question, I bought the game recently thru steam and would now like to apply the texture mod. When getting asked into witch folder to install the mod I am getting a bit confused. Shall I install the mod without the folder "The Witcher" or with? Exp. \STEAM\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\The Witcher. This is the path where my game is to find. And is there an activation needed to apply the new textures?Anyways, like I said before, very nice mod and thanks for sharing.Cheers

The mod doesn't work here, I don't know why.It put ~3k *.dds files in the /data/override/ folder but there is no difference in game. I already tried the patch from moddb (though it doesnt say anything about that in the readme) and have the high detail characters mod installed and the difficulty mod. I have the impression none of the graphics mods are working at all.Do they maybe need to be placed in a sub directory or something? Got the EE with patch 1.5 and Win7 64.

You can place the files in any sub directory in The Witcher\DATA\...Try putting the files in "z" directory. The game loads the files alphabetically.

Thanks, that helped. The textures where actually active. I'm just too spoiled from current games or just expected more.

i have huge lags when i play with the installed mods.i have a intel core i5-750, 4GB RAM and a ATI RAdeon HD 4870.shouldnt the game run without any lags with that hardware?!
