Actually İ do not know anything about programming. But why nobody answered this guy?I guess it' s safe to say they don't care and will leave ModKit as it is.
Could anyone tell me what the issue truly is?
Is it just exporting the textures from xbm to known image formats or does it have issues with uncooking the buffers aswell?
Depending on how much it's broken, I might write a new ModKit from scratch, with faster packing and metadata.store generation (<1s rather than 30-40 seconds on the official one).
No, not really. It is possible. Given amount of reverse engineering that's already been done, it's not like it's outright impossible given you have appropriate skills and time.I think it was a joke by him? I dont think that somebody is able to make a better modkit
We should have spam mailed them that we REALLY want that damn Redkit :/ Smh, now they have cool card game and we have nothing :/ ripDon't worry guys, i bet we'll be able to do some sick mods for Gwent.
Don't think that would had made any difference to be honest. We should have spam mailed them that we REALLY want that damn Redkit :/
I think I need to start using the /s at the end of my senteces. Also CDPR said that the main reason why are they making standalone version of gwent is because a lot of fans were mailing them about it.Don't think that would had made any difference to be honest.
Even the door guards in CDProject studio know that ALL PC PLAYERS want. 2014 assets back and Redkit to be available. So Emailing or spamming will not make any sense. Gwent is something new and they made standalone version because emails were the indication of players wanting it. But about Redkit, Developers knew this for more that 1 year. So if requests of players would be the reason to give us Redkit they would have done it 1 year ago. So this not something we can get by wanting.I think I need to start using the /s at the end of my senteces. Also CDPR said that the main reason why are they making standalone version of gwent is because a lot of fans were mailing them about it.
Well, we all know what the real reason is.Also CDPR said that the main reason why are they making standalone version of gwent is because a lot of fans were mailing them about it.
The basic principle of a business is moneymaking, so what's the point of this? You see a profitable demand, you seize it.Well, we all know what the real reason is.

The point, was pointing out the actual real reason, Olek. I thought that was obvious?so what's the point of this? Y
The fact that a company develops products in order to make a profit is obvious in itself. The point, was pointing out the actual real reason, Olek. I thought that was obvious?
I never said I had any problems with their decision to pursue a Gwent standalone now did I? Gwent is a lot a lot of fun.
Now let's get back to topic.
Well yes, at the point where they stop listening to part of the community. It's negative because that part of the community doesn't want to throw their money in their faces. When people start saying "It's just for the money" (paraphrasing) it's to give off a negative connotation.
Yeah, gwent all the wayHope it's like Skacik said and we get some sick-ass nudie card mods for Gwent. Oh goodie. :3
It is truly all we need.
I agree with the first part. but let me tell you a story. The fact that a company develops products in order to make a profit is obvious in itself.

That happened with almost everything on this game (and I'm not justifying it)I bought the game partially on the premise of the wide ranging mod support which was advertised via pre-release interview etc.
I was about to say exactly what you just posted. Thanks. I've begun to use the mods recently and it's awesome what some people can do with a few mods. Yesterday, I discovered a mod that allows you to until 3 more graphic levels and it made me wonder what the game could have been if it wasn't for consoles (IMO, the reason that explains why the game's engine hasn't been fully used)I agree with the first part. but let me tell you a story.
there was a company that had always been crying out about listening to fans, respecting the customers, pc players, blah blah blah and after a while some shits happened to their best release while the devs kept silent about it as if nothing has ever happened. a lot of fans accepted it the way it was and said: "hey it's still great" while others took matters into their own hands and tried their best to improve it further. they pushed the limits for more than a year but in the end instead of gaining help and appreciation from the devs, they were partly blocked by the last patch. end of story!
Damn . . . I don't even know why I'm saying all this.
ThisWell yes, at the point where they stop listening to part of the community. It's negative because that part of the community doesn't want to throw their money in their faces.
It gets a negative connotation when you justify the development of Gwent or anything else based on the demands of the fans. If we begin to speak about demands, many things would have been done instead of Gwent. At least be honest and say that they are development a card game because they saw a profitable market or whatever the reasons. In the end, I hope they fix Modkit. I have no notion of modding but it's really amazing what you cand find in nexus ModThe fact that a company develops products in order to make a profit is obvious in itself.

...and they lived unhappily ever after.I agree with the first part. but let me tell you a story.

Which were his words exactly?CDProject still slaping to PC players face in every possible situation. Damien Monnier was absolutely right by that word during GDC gameplay.
