How do I make mods?

I want to make a mod for configurable camera distance, and also make the buffs at the top of the screen smaller. With the armor buff, weapon buff, a decoction, and places of power, it fills up the entire screen. It should be smaller and more compact when you have more than 2-3 buffs.

Or try www.nexusmods.com, which is where most of the modders are hanging out.

Please keep this thread for listing mods people have found. Thanks.

Gods be praised ! Lmao !

Instructions

Disable Intro Video
Disable Storybook Video
Disable Both

If you are annoyed with both Intro and Storybook Videos then choose “Disable Both. Otherwise, whatever you like.
Now, Place the file in The Witcher 3\content\content0\bundles
(it works for both steam and gog)

Launch the .bat file. Now it takes around 10 seconds for it to replace the videos With an empty file.

Now go to: The Witcher 3\content\content0\movies\cutscenes\gamestart\bumpers and delete or rename the file “bumpers.usm”

That’s it. The intro and Storybook videos will not bother you any more.

Instant Sign Casting > Modder note: I hope CDPR will make a proper hotbar someday (unlikely), or someone will make a good UI mod when (and if) they release mod tools, because UI clearly wasn't made for M+KB.

I'm looking at starting a second playthrough on Death March. Here is a list of the mods I am thinking of using.

Disable Story Book and Intros: As the name implies
REASON: A must have mod if you're tired of listening to videos on the loading screen.

The Witcher 2 Input: Remaps controls to match The Witcher 2.
REASON: For those people who liked The Witcher 2's controls better than The Witcher 3. Rebinds some controls to the same key, which you can't do normally.

Project Destiny: Recolors the game to look like the E3 2014 version.
REASON: A "colder" "paler" version of The Witcher 3. Looks exactly like the Sword Of Destiny trailer!

Fixed XP: All quests give full XP reward even when you're overleveled.
Better XP Curve: Reduces XP gain by 15% on top of the 20% reduction from Death March.
REASON: Now you can enjoy side-quests without worrying about being over leveled.

Wealthy Vendors: Increases the amount of coin merchants have in stock.
Weightless Crafting Mats: All crafting materials and food are weightless.
Improved Saddle Bags: Increases the capacity of saddle-bags.
Over 9,000! Weight Limit: Customizes Geralt's weight limit.
REASON: These mods will reduce the amount of time I spend managing my inventory. Geralt's default weight limit is 60 and the largest saddle bag is 100. I intend to set Geralt's weight limit to 100 and double the capacity of saddle-bags. The wealthy vendors mod means I only have to visit one merchant to sell all my loot.

Does anyone with modding experience know if it'll be possible to remove the collar from the Ursine armor? The collared armor uses a different model for Geralts Hair which means less hair physics. I'd like to be able to wear Ursine armor while sporting the full physics of the half ponytail.

Would Redkit make this possible?

Are any of these mods to date actually worth the time installing? So far from a quick scroll through the pages many of the mods seem to be cheat addons or supposed graphic improvements. None of which look like the E3 demo graphics which they claim to be based off. Honestly prefer the Vanilla look to the alternatives currently.

Is there a mod to remove (or drastically decrease) the XP gain of the side quests ? (in order to not level up too fast)

Funnily enough, the boost in XP is actually due to the ridiculous amounts of XP the main quests give you.

But to answer your question, no I don't think I've seen such a mod floating around.

For those that are dying for a New Game+ mode I would recommend using the following mods.

Wild Hunt Game Mode Plus
T.and.M Enemy scaling mod (Does not yet fully support v1.07 but will shortly according to the mod author)
Fix Exp for quest

I have also updated my preset to fully support the "Yet Another Lighting Mod" by KNG for those interested in a vastly different visual experience from the vanilla game. My latest screens in the screenshots thread are running with this combination active and there is more to view on my mod page.

If anyone was at level 29-33 and using a mastercrafted set of Bear/Griffin/Cat armor/weapons when patch 1.07 hit and left unable to use their stuff (because patch 1.07 increases the level requirements for those items from 29 to 34), these mods will fix the problem (removes minimum level requirements from Witcher gear; compatible with v1.07 and works with existing save games):

http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/264 (for Bear/Griffin/Cat items)
http://www.nexusmods.com/witcher3/mods/271 (for Wolf items)

And of course those mods also work if you're just generally annoyed that the Witcher items have level restrictions on them in the first place.
