Module crashes when saving

After five hours of despaired searching for the reason for my module to crash sometimes when I enter a new area I noticed that autosaving commence the crashing. Someone knows what could be the reason for this?

I don't know for sure that what I experienced was exactly the same, but have you tried your module with a clean install of D'Jinni ?I had one module that just kept crashing and when i tried it on a totally fresh install of D'Jinni, it worked just fine. I've had to reinstall D'Jinni several times for similar reasons.

If this is the reason, it would not crash when I open the module in the game, or? But I tried it and then it crashes too.

no, indeed that does sound different :-\ .... we've also reached a point where our module does nothing but crash ... we "rolled back" quite a few days worth of work and have started adding in things back in one by one trying to figure out what exactly pushed us over the edge ... no luck yet, bu i suspect it was our sheep that did it (but i have no proof)

I always found the reason by doing exactly the opposed. I made a copy of my module, removed everything one by one in it and tryed if it work now and then.In this case the reason was that my start script give all my story npcs the story phase start. But one of my story npc file had not such a phase.

Working solution:Set your automatic save to every 5 minutes. This may slow your performance, but if you are losing data, that should be acceptable.Upon crash, force-close the Djinni.exe program in "program manager" in Windows. When restarting, you should get a prompt: "Your module did not save. Would you like to recover the data lost?" The answer to this question is always yes, recover the data.Save immediately.Always keep daily backups of your work, named for days of the week "version 4, Tuesday" for example. When backing up your files, the .adv files are archivable to a great extent, more than 50%. A 90mb file can shrink down to 40, sometimes. Handy for space management.Happy Modding!

I create daily backups but to be honest, I never had any unsolvable crash problem in my module and so never had to use one of this backup files. In the most cases finding the problem take not that long then adding all the stuff to my module again.

Sometimes it runs a few days later.I had a problem with my last cutscene, thought I have to make it new, but a few days later doing several things, I have access now again to my "lost" cutscene.I don't know why, but sometimes a new installation of Djinni helps also.
