I'm seriously starting to think that they revealed this game 6 years too early...... it's like a Square Enix kind of mistake I feel like this is what would have happened if they had actually released Final Fantasy 13 versus...... actually screw it this is kind of exactly what Final Fantasy 15 turned out to be like......

Game engine is here and all cut content is somewhere in archives i reckon.
Literally nothing stops devs to put all the cut content back piece by piece.

Guerilla arms don't rip open doors, high strength does.
You can even force open some doors with high technical.
Monowire could have additional move set you're not discovering. Melee has more than two attacks.
There's light, heavy, attack while blocking, attack while sprinting, attack while kneeling, attack while jumping.

To clear up some stuff the guerilla arms have a special animation to them for ripping open high strength doors where you see the plates separate like the arms are going into overdrive

The thing that disappointed me with monowire is they don't seem to really benefit from a specific tree in the same way the other arms do because the other arms count as either blade or blunt while the monowire only gets damage increases from the attribute Cool there are no beneficial perks themselves like the other two do. Guerilla fist are actually very strong don't sleep on them as they benefit from all blunt perks and generally just allowed punching to do competitive damage and it store energy to hard hitting strong attacks. I've exploded peoples heads using them.

Monowire exists on two trees.

First, It counts as a blunt weapon (I Know, doesn't make sense) so it gains damage benefits and activates perks from the Street Brawler tree.)

Second, is as what you said, it gains benefits base damage from the cool tree.

So someone trying to make the most of Monowire would seek to get benefits out of Strength and Cool.

I don't really agree with the design choices on this, but it does benefit from a tree.

I was going to post this.. Until I realized the first Ripperdock sells them too... So I didn't post the following.
(Gorilla Arms for the win by the way.)
-----------
Ripperdock here sells
Gorilla Arms
Mantis Blades
Monowire
Missile launcher
-----
By the way... Has any choice you've done changed the game for you?
It is supposed to, but has NOT done so for me.

I guess there is a fair bit of synergy with the annihilation tree (dismemberment) and maybe that was their rational in putting it with body. But idk, just seems odd for a weapon that seems designed for (and was advertised for) post stealth burst kills to force you to spec into body...I really hope the update this week confirms whether this is or isn't a bug so I know if I should make a new character 😂

So I read an article mid 2019, it was a CDPR dev talking about the monowire and how it could be used to strangle, stealth kill, and hack enemies. I was overjoyed when I found it in the game ...

Know that feel too, I didn't read articles about CP2077 and waited to play it, oh how I was surprise, when I find MONOWIRE EXPECTATIONS: WHOOO-HOOO!!! Johnny Mnemonic combat style with ultrakills and disemembering, violent stealth kills, WOW!

reality: (tried it) ehm.. (tried it again in stealth mode) mmm... (checking your implants, whether something non-lethal is installed, well, no, tried it again) oh crap... (checking perks, no, nothing at all, change weapon back to revolver)

well, actually, it could be improved to the state like on the video above, BUT, there is still no body separation like vertical cut, diagonal cut, horizontal cut (sorry for beeing bloodthirsty here), and when you get Monowire, you're probably expecteing exactly this. And probebly someone who added it to the game, expected the same, but due to some reason stoped developing it.

I remember a video where V was clinging to the side of a wall with mantis blades and leaps down to slash some corpo guys. was this feature removed too?

As I see, it was from e3, and was related to the wall running, so yeah, that feature was removed, idk why, probably because of the level design or usefulness only to a specific levels, or lacking of time as everyone already stated.

I did not notice a damage boost even with all the street brawler perks. The damage was horrible

Hey at lest you got the wire.
I watched a vid on U-tube about one of its locations.
I looted it....aaah been then it wasn't in my inventory.
The vid said it has nothing to do with hacking, they put it in the body or melee to improve it?
Go figure?
Choas at CD-project-red were now the investors tell the devs what to do. Lots of people quit over the control-freak-corpo's taking over???? Guess they didn't like getting put-down in a video game bad for the Corpo-suk-arse deeds at destroying everything but profits?

I don't understand the concept of the monowire. Seems cool, but overall its functionality seems hella weak.

I'm using a Monowire/hacking build and it's pretty fun actually, but it is weak atm due to several issues:

1) The base damage calculation for the weapon is bugged apparently, which is why the damage is so bad. Notice how the Heavy attack basically has the same damage as the light attack? There is a post on reddit that goes into more detail about it.

2) The weapon relies on the "charge" mechanic to do burst damage. However, it seems that isn't working too.

3) The skills/perks for the weapon is split all over the place compared to other weapons. You have to invest into Body/Brawler tree AND Cool tree just to beef up the damage.

4) The hit detection for the weapon is bugged as hell. Half of the time, the swings seems to go through the enemy and deal no damage.

5) Bad weapon scaling. If you picked up the Legendary Monowire at an early level, the stats are locked to that level forever with no way of upgrading it. And NO, the weapon does not scale up with you despite what some people claim. You can pumps points into skills and perks to boost the damage, but it will never be as powerful as someone who picked up the weapon at a higher level. I'm almost lvl 30 and my Monowire is still stuck at lvl 12 stats from when I picked it up.

I don't think the Monowire is bad per se. I can see it being a very effective skirmishing weapon with its long range stun attack and wide hitting arc. It's just that the weapon is incredibly bugged now.

...use hacking to kill everything until you are level 50, then pick up all the golds/legendaries you want. ... or just don't worry about it.

Nothing beats the singular mantis blade impale animation, when you are surrounded and getting shot at. Every. Single. Time.

Yet another on the list of growing dissapointments in Cyberpunk. Refering to that trailer posted above a perfect quote grab. "In Night City almost nothing goes as planned" yeah you can say that again all of the marketing for this game was just a big propaganda machine to sell us the game all the while all the coolest stuff like body modification (no cutscenes just the same menu you buy tacos with), car customization, The freaking thermal Katana (i was looking forward to that most) along with a slew of other missing elements from gameplay presentations to long to list without writting a book
