Hey all,

I am currently level 8, I've been playing since closed beta. I am happy to see they nerfed the weather cards a bit as it was seriously out of hand.

However, monster weather meta is still 100% of the monster decks I play -- and about 40% of all games I play are against monsters.

It has gotten to the point that 8 of my 25 cards are anti-weather tech in some fashion.

Has anyone else noticed this? It is super-frustrating to play against and very boring. I fashioned myself one to try it out and it makes me want to clean myself; I feel so dirty.

Decks you face change with Rank climbing. Monster weather (in case you mean Frost-Hound deck) is somewhere around 2k rankings. I do not see them here at 3100. The thing is certain deck is not capable of doing Top 1. That is why they all reach some rankings which is usually almost same for them all. And you will always face these decks at this rank until you overcome it and go to the top.
Until the patch I witnessed only Nilfs and Skellige around 3100. Probably Dagon Fog too.

That is good to know. Thank you for the heads up. They have a very low ceiling so Imagine they don't do well at higher levels!

So what faction are you playing? I'm asking because especially players at ranks 5-10 tend to drastically overestimate the strength of weather cards as (you already mentoined it yourself) these decks typically lack many tempo options (besides Crones). I would highly recommend you to not stack your deck with first lights as this is perfectly playing into their gameplan. You are baiscally helping them by turning their low-power play (1-5 points) into direct point advantage (1-5 points + your FL). High-level lists actually tend to play only few FL and instead try to counter weather by cards that provide some "growth" to your deck (eg. Brokvargh Hunter, Redanian Knight-Elect, Kaedweni Siege-Support, Yarpen Zigrin, Nekker, Vran Warrior, Imperia Brigade etc.).

Can you elaborate how they actuallny nerfed it ?
Weather is kililng units now. They die and go to graveyard.

It used to debuff them to 1 strength. You could clear weather and have them at full health. You could use potion, mutagen, horn or d-bomb to bring them to full health while affected by weather. If you did this, the weather would not affect them anymore. Same weather played over the previous one would bring them down to 1. In current situation, weather is actually killing the units (although slowly) which I find way more annoying.

Thats because weather wasnt really nerfed. It was buffed.

Yes cause weather-mosnters use weather without loosing tempo --> strong

Life is strange. You never know how Gwent gonna be after the new patch. If it really doesn't work, I thinkCDPR would change it back to close beta weather. I am also not a fan of weather. Now you must have at least 3-5 anti-weather cards. Everyone can spam weather now. It's just not fun if you have to prepare/auto includes 3-5 card against weather.

Right, everyone has to run 3 -5 anti-weather tech and it sucks. Weather is an annoying mechanic, it should have a timer of 4 turns

If you want to beat monster weather deck, play spell based decks. All their minions have low strength levels, their weather is useless against you and they generally don't run much anti-weather themselves.

This is the best way to just make them forfeit! They can't weather your units, if you have no units. lol

I use a Monster deck with only 3 frosts for my hounds, 2 archgriffins for clear, and a situational water hag. If I face a Dagon, then I just try to get as many celaeno harpys, earth elementals, and archgiffins for the first round. I just toss out as many trash units to trigger as many weather cards that I can. I use an archgriffin to clear a row if harpys start to stack, which usually makes them use another weather. Pretty soon, they'll use all of their weather cards just for round one. Water hag is great to hold onto just in case they have drought or RNR or just when I need to clear a weather in round 3.
Theyre a pain to fight, but can def be outmaneuvered.

I figured spell decks are good against weather, but I see a lot of people whining on forums that spell decks arent viable anymore with the new patch, I haven't tried it myself though

The one I tried works ok but it's boring to play (with and against) and the protectors you throw down at the end aren't that strong anymore. Even with maxing out the specials in your deck they aren't impressive.
