your choice of words speaks volumes as well. hello target audience.lubo1654 said:Cute chick.I think its kinda nice actually. Im sure it will make no harm to the game, chill out people.
I do not think this is exclusive to poland or russia, EA/bioware did something similar. I just though that after the sex cards and the rep that the first game got they would have learn something, guess not.mothra said:seconded. that's just awfully cheap. I thought the main feature in TW2 is the story and its characters, not their boobs or pubic hair. I applaud the realistic depiction of love and sex in a game without any stupid self-censoring like DA's underwear cutscenes but this is sending the wrong message. especially after the clothed geralt + sexdool cutscene. It's catering to juvenlie fantasies, not mature audiences. I'd go as far as saying that it depicts poland and its male part of the population as backwardly and sexist if their best game developer studio has that kind of "taste".mothra said:This is wrong step guys.... dont sell Triss out please...To see Triss naked is one thing, but this is just stupid... thats my opinion
Well it is clear that this harms the concept of the game being mature and some characters, so I don't thing that's true. Triss is not a sex object she is suppose to be a character from a game, in a supposable mature game. For a fan like me I will buy it despite the cheap and degrading marketing but a new potential buyer that wants a mature thing? I really doubt it after seeing that video.mothra said:Cute chick.I think its kinda nice actually. Im sure it will make no harm to the game, chill out people.
This world has gone done a dark slippery slope when we now consider an image of a nude female SEX and PORN. You people should be ashamed of yourselves. It's also funny to me that the countries who complain the loudest about others showing off their God-given physical beauty have the highest ratio of those who've destroyed their own.Plus, Triss always struck me as a selfish, vain little vixen anyway. The only difference between her and Adda is that Adda is at least honest about it.archaven said:I feel this is really a bad move.. Alot have already accused TW game of selling it by the means of sex/porn. Making Triss to be featuring in Playboy really destroyed her character.
I knew it wouldn't be long before the 'countries' argument came up. At any rate, it has little to do with nudity from where I stand, but rather, pandering. I'm a little tired of game companies assuming I'm a repressed, teen-aged basement dweller. I dare say The Witcher was a high-brow game. Maybe the marketing should reflect that.evmiller said:It's also funny to me that the countries who complain the loudest about others showing off their God-given physical beauty have the highest ratio of those who've destroyed their own.
I agree by the way I live in Europe. The problem isn't the nude they could put naked girls, guys whatever they want on the game if that is on context but put Triss like like a prize? and Geralt looking like her pimp? I am sorry but this is going a little to far.slimgrin said:I knew it wouldn't be long before the 'countries' argument came up. I thought it was a very elegant way to advertise the game. First time i saw triss naked, and didnt get a boner.... right away...slimgrin said:Ok, I've got to be honest here. Geralt in full armor with a naked Triss? The bed scene in the game I could take, but this is...I don't like it. It feels sleazy. like a cheap marketing stunt. Surely CD red has some say over how their publishing partners use their creative property. They were ok with this? You guys do realize this was the whole knock against the first Witcher, right?
Do you see the Statue of David objectifying?Mihura said:So when I read bare facts about Triss I honest though that it was more lore about the character, guess this is just a horrible pun >_>About the playboy/calender thing I think this ruins the character and gives the game a bad rep, I love Triss but this is just objectifying her nothing more and I really don't like it. I guess I am going to just close my eyes and ears to the marketing I really want to be hype about this game not the opposite. The mature feeling is really getting lost with this type of publicity because this is saying that the game is about boobs and sex, which is probably untrue for the actual game.
Pimp? For god's sake, he isnt powdering his hand screaming "where's my money bitch!" too her? Geralt is the main character in the game, from my point of view, it seemed they were trying to protray that. The fact (depending on your sextual orintation) you and I even noticed Geralt there, proves me right.Mihura said:I agree by the way I live in Europe. Are you sure that's what their assuming? Only sexually repressed, teen-aged basement dwellers enjoy that kind of thing? Or is this more correctly YOUR assumption. You have a very low opinion of people who enjoy mature content.slimgrin said:I knew it wouldn't be long before the 'countries' argument came up. Sorry but I don't get your point. I have no problems with sex in the game, but with using the nude image of a character as a simple pin-up to sell it. I don't understand either why is important that Triss is more or less "vixen".evmiller said:This world has gone done a dark slippery slope when we now consider an image of a nude female SEX and PORN. Eh? So your are comparing the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze to the playboy and a calender for the marketing of the game? Maybe you should look on the Geralt pants topic to see how people feel about that.aceventura45 said:Do you see the Statue of David objectifying?aceventura45 said:So when I read bare facts about Triss I honest though that it was more lore about the character, guess this is just a horrible pun >_>About the playboy/calender thing I think this ruins the character and gives the game a bad rep, I love Triss but this is just objectifying her nothing more and I really don't like it. Believe me that was my first impression of the video, I'm not going to lie and if I was not a fan I probably will never buy the game. I think this doesn't have anything to do with sexual orientation there are a lot of people that find the model attractive but do not like the idea behind this marketing stunt. Female sexuality sells, that is sad but it is true I just going to rest my case and I hope they see what they are doing. There are lot of ways to sell a product and this is not original nor funny.aceventura45 said:Pimp? For god's sake, he isnt powdering his hand screaming "where's my money ******!" too her? I say "OK" and "I will bring the rubbers" but just promise that you don't plan to take photos and use them to sell some indie game you're developingn4meless1 said:Oh, come on!!
